I'm an aeronautical engineer who's really trying to learn better and grow into a competent one! It's a struggle.

Something about the editing of this channel makes it so hard to pay attention. I just watched an hour long video on a similar subject and there was no issue... But two videos on here and I'm spacing out. Gonna have to just listen, he has a great voice.

Would interleaving apply to something like studying python and then moving back and forth with Java script or do the topics have to be very different from each other when trying to apply interleaving?

I never thought highlighting was actually learning, I thought it was more about organizing your study materials or aesthetics, but not actively learning. The same thing with rereading without trying to explain it with your own words.

That book shows an even stronger method for method number 4 of asking questions in dialogue form and letting your alter ego poke at them with counter questions. Having a statement feel good but we learn nothing from them, rather just focus on asking questions.

Maybe you have to get into the producer, not consumer mindset. Produce is when you learn.

Method 1: Do not just read, try to test yourself with what you just read (Retrieval Practice, recitation practice)
Method 2: Do space learning. If you want to remember something, try to space time between your learning time slots (Spaced Practice)
Method 3: Tackle several topics at the same time (Interleaving)
Method 4: Be curious and ask yourself questions (Elaborative Interrogation)

Ultimate the best study strategy for low grade students is starting and getting in the flow. These tips will obviously help but if you’re failing you will not become an A grade student if you don’t make the conscious decision to spend time.

Rereading something has helped me to remember things countless times. Maybe I'm an anomaly or maybe I'm just doing it for the right reasons instead of thinking it's the answer ro everything...

He is 100% correct there is this guy on YT name Justin Sung who uses these techniques for his students ( he was or is a doctor) but he teaches you how to study like this and I never knew he got this from these studies as in this video.. I am amazed and want to say Thank you
