Cost, cost, cost. If prices were the same in Singapore as in JB, they wouldn't be going to JB.
I have friends that cross over to JB every month for services like hair cuts, mani-pedi, massage, food, etc.
Problem is traffic. We were in JB and friends from Singapore drove over to meet us for dinner. It took them 3 hours. The causeway Bridge is only 1 mile long?? Then a few days later we were going into Singapore and the only spot on that train was at 5:30am! You've not seen my wife at 5am.😂 We hired a private car to take us door-to-door. Best $ spent. Whizzed through immigration. We got from our JB hotel to our Singapore hotel in about an hour.

S'poreans enjoy consistently high employment rate in s'pore and a recent report shows that household income exceeds expenditure. So, it's pretty obvious that the capable ones stay in s'pore while those that are not good enough move out to cheap places like JB. This is a good thing as there is less burden on s'pore.👍👍

I recent had dinner and breakfast in Austin Heights
Both restaurants happened to be full.
Share table with two random YOUNG Sporeans each time.
Amazed to hear their views.
JB is really where they like to come to have great food !!!

In Johore, i found far superior food quality and value for money. Same with other states. U dun need to grow too old before learning this.

I recently bought a house in JB city area nearly 9,000 sq ft land, at the cost of non prime location 4-room flat. (3 small bedrooms)

A couple of months later, i discover both neigbhours left and right are already owned by Sporeans.

SPH ( Singapore Press Holdings ) put satellites in orbit so that media offenders can use them to see through walls of any building in Singapore, and they can electromagnetically zap the bodily functions of anybody anywhere. These electromagnetic radiation can trigger all reactions in the body, including disease symptoms and pain, and the offenders are using these satellites to torture me and keep me under constant surveillance to play their "white teeth", "use the hands" game. Please help me. Please call on the government to take action on the media offenders' illegal use of satellites and stop their criminal oppression and torture.

First of all you must understand that this is Tanah Melayu and we are given special rights in this country. The influx of foreigners into Malaysia will only weaken the position of the Malay. We hope the Malay leaders like Tun Mahathir, Dr Akmal Saleh and Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang can fight for our benefits and protect our special rights given by the Malaysian Constitutions.

My mother is from Malacca. Born and raised in US, but thinking about being a part-time resident in Asia. My cousins still in Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. Visit them about once a year for the past 10 years. Thoroughly enjoy my visits with delicious food, Asian culture and the amazing cost of living compared to US. I like the ocean. How’s about doing a review on retiring in Sabah. I’m going to check out that place next.🎉

😅 the city square shopping mall are own by temasek holding of singapore. The rental are amazing high. If you want cheaper rate shop at other mall and eat at normal coffee shop like in taman sentosa and sri tebrau, taman perling or taman setia indah. Taman tun ungku aminah is extremly cheap, the chicken rice is only RM3.00 and pork rice with stewed pork is RM4.00 at jalan perkasa 4. 😅❤

Leave JB property for the people of Malaysia. As soon as Singaporeans start scooping up properties, you affect prices for locals. If you want to support JB, the best thing you can do is rent there or visit regularly injecting badly needed shopping dollars into their economy.

Johor is closer to third world asian countries than first world. Lawless and messy.

SG is closer to Europe and Australia. Of course a third more expensive.

Alternate point that one might not consider: dating a Malaysian girl.

From my personal experience, every corporate i've worked for the past decade is filled with colleagues from JB, if you were to ever date a colleague. That is essentially securing a retirement/WFH option to move to JB while renting out your hdb in SG

Singapore? I can't sleep in a shoe box house. Upstairs noisy. Sidewalk noisy. Lift opens & shut. Come down, no space to move. All like little crowds here, little crowds there. Then, run back to HDB its 4 walls around me, talking to lizards. But one thing l am proud to say. No cockroach but rats, big fat ones around coffee shops. Not often, but around little gardens next to coffee shops. I saw their holes, their hiding place during the day. At nights, wah, they are the tourists once coffee shops pull down their blinds. It's a call to their play time. That's why I never eat in any coffee shops in Singapore.

5 important factors for me to consider life elsewhere..
1) Security and crime rate
2) Economic stability and Financial investment opportunities
3) Equality and opportunity for all races
4) Technology, healthcare and logistical infrastructure
5) Entertainment and lifestyle quality

The irony of it all there is so many all over SEA trying to attain citizenship in Singapore…so Singaporeans give up the ‘space’ for foreigners coming in to SG?
For elderly.. when you age, healthcare becomes more critical as you encounter more age-related ailments and your savings will be sucked dry, so what are the medicare benefits and are medical aids accesssible..how easy is it to get to the nearest hospital emergency lobby and be warded
