"I've seen some big guys make 82 kilos look hard and that looked very easy". - Eddie
What a compliment. Someone who has worked out and trained with the biggest people on the planet complimenting your strength is amazing. Magnus definitely has a special kind of strength.

Magnus being able to pull 138kg which is double his body weight more than once is insane. Thats one of the greatest feats of strength ive ever seen.

Can you imagine doing a 617lbs pull while weighing 160lbs? That is some insane strength. I agree with Eddie, normal people may not even realize how insane that is. They hear 280kg and dont bat an eye. This was insane.

I guess a muscle up isn't that hard when you weight 70kg and can pull 280kg, you just pull yourself right up.

Why thy didn't reset the seat for every set?
Every seat was perfectly adjusted for Eddie but not for Magnus.
If it was I think that it would be beter form on heavier lifts. And it would be more comfortable for Magnus on heavier lifts.

The most impressive thing is that you can see Magnus has never really worked out on machines like this before. If you look at Eddie he has a very specific technique for putting his body into the position where his muscles have the best leverage to move weight. But Magnus literally lifts like that teenager at your local gym who just started working out, accept Magnus is so stupidly fucking strong that he just manhandles the weight even when he is handicapped by his bad technique.

If we go by raitio of strength to weight. Magnus, clears Eddie by far. Which is what strongest in my view should be about.

Before you hate. Eddie himself won worlds strongest man against much bigger and heavier competition.

🫣 Absolutely astonishin' strength from Magnus!? I'm gobsmacked that he could come anywhere near the World's strongest man, let alone match Eddie in the gym. It was also great to see both men being gracious and humble...Nice one fellas. A great example to the young 👍🏾👌🏾👏🏾👏🏾.

The thing is, what people don't understand is that he is activating/using different groups of muscles.

This is why some people look like they are smaller in size but can manage to lift heavy weights. The problem is that most people who go to the gym would have the bodybuilder mentality when it comes to weight training.

Training weight by ISOLATION of specific muscles. There is nothing wrong with that, and it is correct. If you want to build muscle mass.

But like this guy, he uses a lot more different muscles to WORK TOGETHER and produce more power. But by doing this, he won't produce much muscle mass because he is being more efficient.

Athletes in all sports do this. For example, you can't be a fast sprinter if you just train your leg muscles and make them huge. I can bet if we make this guy isolate and just use specific muscles, he wouldn't be able to match Eddie Hall or bodybuilders who are as big as him.

Insane. Magnus is definitely a total freak/outlier but some of those rock climbers have just insanely dense muscle... on par with or even more so it seems than powerlifters.

Here is the thing why rock climbers can get so strong. Like if you were in a traditional gym and you spent an hour working on things like pulling and grip strength thst would be a super long time. Most climbers spend some 4 hours in the climbing gym, and its mostly pulling and grip strength til failure several days a week. Going climbing outside and you are spending 8-10 hours climbing typically. Dudes who are super athletically gifted like Magnus can train on top of all of that.

Rock climbing is fun, so its way way easier to do it for a long time that going to a traditional gym.

It's important to note that magnus is unusually strong for a professional climber, and technically he's not even a pro anymore and no longer follows a competition training schedule. I am quite sure the top 20 athletes in the ifsc (international federation of sport climbing) could not do anywhere near these numbers, despite being miles better than magnus ever was at his prime.

Pound for pound smaller people will always be stronger, the weight is lighter afterall. Magnus nearly did twice his body weight for the first one, that's would require Eddie to be lifting somewhere around 300kg during that exercise to do the same
