I can see why most of these machines made this list. You Eliminator guys, having made my living primarily as a motorcycle mechanic, Kawasaki's required more repairs than any of the other Japanese brands,,, & that's a fact! The worst thing about the MT09 is it's freaking ugly.

The Stelvio is a great bike; but it's not competing with the VStrom at twice the price. I think ADV bikes are losing ground in the popularity department due to alot of riders aging into cruisers. PanAmerica has entered the chat.

I suspect the people who might have had a go on an MT09 may have then had a go on an MT10 and were blown away by that and maybe that is why the MT10 has been such a massive seller.

I almost bought an Indian scout. It's was used and the asking price was 9k even. For me the sticking point was the fenders. I have always been big fan of the full balanced fenders. Think Indian Chief or Kawasaki Drifter. No such option for the scout. Got go get my own and then get them fitted. Nope, no sale. Pete.

ADV's are freaking huge which really limits their appeal really tall and heavy not for a lot of riders. The MT 09 is just plain ugly and thats a competitive class.

A stripped down Guzzi Stelvio minus most of the body parts and minus a few thousand$ on the price could sell. Give it a new model name, different depending on where sold. Stelvio is a common car model name; from a mountain road in Italy that has almost 50 hairy curves and switchbacks, like the Tail of the Dragon at Deal's Gap in the U.S.

Too many motorcycles these days are nothing more that electronic sideshows with complexity in the old do it yourself maintenance cycles.

The Pan America has been a piece of junk plagued with electrical problems, and it's typical of Harley Davidson.... in other words they deny and let the customer deal with it, while they deny that it often leaves the owner sitting along a road.

BMW have just announced a revamp of the R18 with some significant changes. Not something they'd bother doing if the bike was such a sales flop. Usually manufacturers just quietly discontinue machines that don't sell once stocks are gone.
