I saw the TV programme on last week on Channel Five ' The Cancellation of Benny Hill'. Apparently Benny Hill decided to get more raunchy dancers and dance routines done by Hill's Angles to compete with the likes of Kenny Everett.

If this is from the early seventies, then The Two Ronnies plagiarised it years later in their famous Mastermind sketch 'Answering the question before last' (written by David Renwick) which featured in Series 8 of their show years after this.

Hilarious! I miss civilization so much.

Benny was a comic genius, his sketches were often very visual, but ones like these prove he was every bit as adept at using dialogue and perfect timing. He was born and grew up in my local city of Southampton, England. There has been a long standing campaign to erect a statue of him as Ernie the Milkman but it has sofar come to nothing. That cheeky smile and sparkling eyes, one of the greats of comedy.
