coal is more textured, its more like a rock.
iron feels a lot shinier in the new one, like how metals usually are shiny
gold has the same reason as iron, but also the old gold is strangely green, the new one’s colors work better
lapis is a lot smoother, also i hate the missing piece of the outline on the old one’s top
redstone looks more like a powder
diamonds are shinier, and they’re symmetrical unlike the old diamonds

personally, I prefer the older textures because they're bolder and sharper.
I do think the newer is nicer (and probably better) but man, the old textures just remind me of my childhood and playing minecraft with my siblings on the TV.
The new one's feel less like those analog horror games I like. The low-quality looking games with a good plot. It also feels more simple. The older ones also take me back to those old minecraft roleplays I use to enjoy.
