I loved EVERYTHING about this.

I know this is comedy improv, but I’d like to appreciate AJ’s ability to make a moment sad and heartfelt by the sound of his voice. He sounds fully heartbroken at times, and all of a sudden I’m watching a full on drama. The way he says “don’t call your ex” here, the phone call to Clarissa in ‘Clarissa’s DIY Wedding’, it’s that little extra thing you don’t see coming that makes what could be a semi-sensical play into something with deep meaning and emotion. Actually, that’s probably my favorite part of all the improvised plays, seeing a great story come full circle from nothing. The love story in Inside the Mysterious Cube, the overcoming of societal norms and family bond in Moist and Magical, Watson at the end of Mystery of the Midnight Circus. It’s not just improv, it’s a story coming together with a message of what it’s like to be human. That, and Shoot From The Hip is hilarious.
