Amazing tip!!! Would've NEVER thought of this.
Thanks.
loveandpeace.
Thanks for the tip about the smaller file’s already existing. I just assumed it was some thumbnail file that only plays in camera. That’ll be so helpful to just pull it for quick clips I want to send to Twitter without caring about 4K quality. 🤣 (and save data over 4G uploads lol)
I notice you edit on a Mac. I have a new 16” M1 Pro MBP now but I was test editing on an iPad Pro (Lumafusion) just fine. So I shouldn’t bother with the proxy stuff huh?
Great info Uncle Blackie Thanks!
ОтветитьFishycomics has a fast way to rename those files. You can do them all at once
Ответитьcracking video as always, do you ever consider lumafusion to edit, would love yo know your take on it
ОтветитьI just got a new cpu for my pc, now davinci resolve works amazing
Ответитьthank you so much for this. i have had problems i didnt even think about this a solution, much appreciated
Ответитьlol you actually had me thinking the lag in this video was because of my computer ;)
ОтветитьOMG, thank you so much for this. I just got my GoPro and have a decent spec computer, but was having a lot of issues with 4k editing. Was nearly giving up on my editing software, but thought I'd check to see if you had some advice (you helped me choose the GoPro with your videos). You came through for me! Thank you! Subscribed!
ОтветитьWindows 10 is not allowing me to change the LRV 'Type' to MP4. It only lets me change the 'Name'.
ОтветитьExcellent... good trick. Thanks Danny. Regards from Indonesia.
ОтветитьCan't I use a 1080p version of the video?
ОтветитьOn my Hero9, I get LRV files I can use for proxy files when I record 1080p/60fps and 4K/30fps, but not 4K/60fps. Do the hero10 and/or hero11 generate LRV files when recording 4K/60fps? This setting is when they would be most useful.
ОтветитьDefinitely a to do for my next project!
ОтветитьBy far the most helpful video on the subject! I was frustrated when I first got the GoPro 11 because of the editing. I have a macbook 2016 which can handle 4k ok but this is very simple and straight forward! Thanks so much
ОтветитьI have a question. So so I followed the whole process of switching the LRV Files to .MP4 & after I did that the quality on the timeline looked the same. I then went to the original media folder from my library (on final cut pro) & I dragged and dropped the newly edited .mp4 files and then it seemed to work, however, my new video on FCP scaled HUGELY! what can I do to avoid this and not sure why it didn’t automatically read my files. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks again!
ОтветитьWhenever I go to the the gopro app the footage is lagging
ОтветитьThank you.
ОтветитьDanny thank yo so much. This has saved a ton of time and saved me so much stress lol. Thanks man.
ОтветитьIf I play video on quick app video is laggy but if I play the same video on media player, it works really smooth. It is quick app itself which can't support video file. Got HEVC so how come when I am watching on media player it works fine but quick app dog crap.
Any ideas?
Fooking Genius, Boi 😎
ОтветитьHot tip: Download bulk rename utility and you can 'bulk' rename the GX/GL as well as the extensions from lrv/MP4...huuuuge timesaver!
ОтветитьLol...there is no reason to make 2 folders. For example Shotcut and Davinci resolve see lrv files as proxy by default. Just copy mpeg and lrv as they are in folder and turn on the proxy in your program.
ОтветитьThank you so much! Very helpful!!!
ОтветитьHow do I fix the laggy video that is on my phone? I have a GoPro 11 and I have the quick app on my phone. When I downloaded my video and then try playing them….it’s very laggy….please help
ОтветитьAwesome
ОтветитьThis is cool because proxys take AGES to create on my computer. And if the LRVs are already there.... why not just use them!
ОтветитьWow i didn't know this. This whole time i was deleting the LRV files and creating proxies in premiere pro instead. This is so useful wow thanks danny!
ОтветитьI made my video followed Ur steps replaced the footage but it doesn't change the quality of the video.... the files don't update on the video editing program there already there I'm so annoyed with go pro what's the point
ОтветитьThank you for this tip
ОтветитьMy gopro 12 only shows the high res file in the folder when I connect to PC, is there anything I need to do in the settings to get low res files in the camera folder alongside high res?
ОтветитьThank you!!
ОтветитьThanks for the info. Great
ОтветитьI did this on my first video and it worked. The second time I did it it says media lost. Not sure what went wrong. I did save duplicates but hoping I don’t have to edit it all again lol
ОтветитьI must be doing something wrong.. when i change the LRV ext to mp4, davinci still wont let me import the clip
ОтветитьThanks Danny I'll try that next time
ОтветитьThanks, it's very helpful, and does the same method work with the files in thm?
ОтветитьHahhaa you nailed the video intro and outtro
ОтветитьThanks for this I’ll try it tomorrow.
Ответитьvery helpful - thank you!!
ОтветитьNo Lrv files on gopro 12? Anyone know where and how to find them?
Ответитьexcellent - thank you. Will watch more of your stuff 👍
ОтветитьDo you know how to do it with the osmo action 4 I have the low resolution and high files but they already have the same name and I can’t find them when I click link proxy media
ОтветитьAfter 1 year of suffering, I finally found a solution Thank you so much.
