Excellent vid and a great song!
P.S. - please come to Utah, or at least Colorado!
Lyrics:
All my days I wake up, open my eyes
Beneficiary of a genocide
Drive to work all day
go to sleep at night
Beneficiary of a genocide
All of my life,
I turned a blind eye
I don't know why
I turned a blind eye
All of this time
I really can't say why
I don't know why
I'm a history of violence
All my days I wake up, open my eyes
Beneficiary of a genocide
Drive to work all day
go to sleep at night
Beneficiary of a genocide
All of my mind,
I don't know where to find it
I don't know why
I'm a creature of habit
I'm a past and future
I'm a war never ending
But I la la la,
I'm an ocean of carnage
All my days I wake up open my eyes
Beneficiary of a genocide
Drive to work all day
go to sleep at night
Beneficiary of a genocide
All my days I wake up, open my eyes
Beneficiary of a genocide
Drive to work all day
go to sleep at night
Beneficiary of a genocide
Every day I wake up, open my eyes
Beneficiary of a genocide
Drive to work all day
go to sleep at night
Beneficiary of a genocide
All my days I wake up, open my eyes
Beneficiary of a genocide
Drive to work all day
go to sleep at night
Beneficiary of a genocide
All my days I wake up, open my eyes
Beneficiary of a genocide
Drive to work all day
go to sleep at night
Beneficiary of a genocide.

ОтветитьOnly 5000 views? I've watched this at least 100 times. Who else?
ОтветитьA bit self-righteous / self-indulgent, really.
ОтветитьGreat song touches everyone's heart that is awake and alive to what is happening everyday.
ОтветитьI am turning 28 and I've been kind of depressed because my friends and family can't really celebrate with me this year. I had no plans but heard you guys were coming to my hometown in London, Ontario on my birthday (March 21)!! Thanks so much for saving my birthday <3
ОтветитьHope to see you guys soon back in Germany. Feels good to hear of you!
Ответитьdid an overdose on that song yesterday, man what a mess
ОтветитьLove the lyrics and it’s so good and catchy
ОтветитьWow !! another breath taking song by Wintersleep. The hook grabs you and takes you to a place only Wintersleep can find
ОтветитьAstounding is a good word to describe this. One of the best songs of the year.
ОтветитьSounds great, but the lyrics are crap. What on earth genocide are they referring to? Idiots!
ОтветитьThe lyrics borrow from Australian writer Peter Carey, who in an interview last year asserted, “You wake up in the morning and you are the beneficiary of a genocide.”
ОтветитьOne of the things that I most love about Wintersleep is that they stay constant. This isn't to say that they haven't evolved over the years - it's just that they're still pure Wintersleep. Quality tunes, always. In this regard I'd put them in the same category as Petty & The Heartbreakers. Love you guys.
ОтветитьI love lyrics that make me feel. For better or worse.
ОтветитьGood voices to country music ;)
ОтветитьGreat rocker! :-)
ОтветитьThis band...has always been there for me. Thank you thank you thank you!

ОтветитьRemines me of my late brother 😊
ОтветитьHey, Wintersleep! have you donated any of the proceeds of this song to anti-genocide or indigenous peoples organizations or similar orgs? Or doing something else similar?
ОтветитьHaha it really be like that
ОтветитьJust discovered this song on cbc radio very nice song guys.
ОтветитьThe lyrics are haunting. So very true.
