Honestly, mad respect to Midoriya for still supporting Aoyama after this. I feel like the class has gone through too much together by now to turn on one of their own at this point.

I like the small detail that Aoyama and his father's legs are bolted to the chair legs individually (if that makes sense), whle his mother's and chained together (still to the chair) so her legs aren't spread.

I would not say his parents such, since when he was little and was sad about being quirkless, his parents tried to find a way for him to have a quirk so he can feel special like all the others. It just sucks that all for one used them for info on all might when he went to the school. Until that point, its safe to assume he left them alone until they could be used. The reason they cannot do anything else was because they knew it was live and do what he says, or die along with their son, and no parents would ever want to take the 2nd option. No one wants their kids to die because of their mistakes.

Your forgetting that because they worked for All for One they know exactly what he's capable of. Just because their inside the UA barrier does'nt guarantee their safe from him at least in their minds. For all they know he has other spies inside ready to snipe anyone who disobeys him. That's the psycological cage that he has over them and while obviously it does'nt excuse their actions it is easy to understand why their so afraid of him.

Frankly, I don't agree that Aoyama's parents suck. I just think they were desperate to give their child a good future, were clearly decently wealthy enough to get All For One's attention, and once they were caught up, they were basically screwed. We've seen how Deku grew up basically with no hope of achieving his dreams and being constantly looked down upon while he was quirkless. No parent wants their child to grow up discriminated against, and if you find the ability to just TAKE AWAY the problem for very little up front cost (because AFO definitely wasn't honest about what he wanted from them at first), that's really appealing in the moment. Even within the borders of UA, I don't blame them for being certain All For One could be a danger to them. They have no idea what he can do, who he has in his pocket, and if he can even be stopped. All For One is manipulative and UNFATHOMABLY powerful, I wouldn't care what super high-tech stuff UA had to protect me, my natural assumption would be that if AFO wants to hunt me down specifically, he's going to find me. They were all facing life or death together, I ultimately can't blame ANY of them because they were all acting in the hopes of keeping themselves and each other from being murdered.

You have to understand...Deku leaving UA to protect everyone else cause he would rather die while Aoyama doesn't do that is not comparable. Simply for one reason...Aoyama more than being scared of his own life, is afraid for his parents' life. Like Deku's mom was not at all targeted when Deku left.
I do think Deku is still better than Aoyama and I am not fully taking the blame off him cause he did endanger his classmates to save his parents...But please keep in mind that he did all for his parents' life more than his own.

I honestly thought the spy plot point was dropped too. The only giveaway that I noticed after all the years in between the seasons was that Aoyama is the only one who doesn't say anything to Deku to bring him home. Every character had something small to say, even Sugarman who just said "I won't help you make candy apples again" because he didn't actually have a moment with Deku in the entire show. But Aoyama is just awkwardly holding the villain in place off in the distance

I don't get the hate against Aoyama's parents/ They had absolutely no way of knowing who All For One is. For all we know, he just approached them as a businessman with the ability to transfer quirk with a fee. Perfectly normal business for rich clients like surgery. And now they have made a deal with the devil and have a bomb quirk in them.

Would you hate someone for getting scammed ?

It feels weird that a traitor was needed for what Aoyama actually did. The Usj and training camp should've been relatively easy to do without someone inside UA.

I think the bigger issue was that Ayoma was told that if he doesn't snitch on these random kids him and his family were going to be taking out by the biggest villain in history.

A 15 year old kid can't fight against him, and he was just giving some information to save his family. I can't hold that against him as these weren't his friends, they were strangers vs his family.

There’s a lot to unpack here, but first, I just want to talk about how bad I feel for Aoyama and what he’s been through. Being kept on a leash like that for so long must have been terrifying, especially considering he was working so close to One for All. I guess in that sense, maybe keeping One for All relatively secret was still a good idea. If anything knowing about it would have caused Aoyama even more pain. I also feel bad for his parents if I’m being honest. I know what they did was wrong, but I can’t deny that it’s admirable that they were willing to go to such lengths to make sure that their son was happy. He was dealt a really unfair hand from the beginning, and they didn’t have much way of knowing what they were stepping into. Still, it was irresponsible, and it ended up really messing up their, and Aoyama’s, lives. Still, I know Aoyama is still a hero. I feel like it would be wrong to just condemn him for taking part in something that he hardly had a choice in. I think that him, and his parents, can still do the right thing.

Saying Aoyama's parents suck is unfair, they just wanted him to feel normal and be able to follow his dreams, Unfortunately they didn't know just what they were getting into by making a deal with AFO.

Edit: To answer what AFO has on the Aoyama's, nothing. He doesn't need leverage he's the symbol of evil, generations of heroes have died at his hands, the symbol of peace was forcibly retired by him. He does not need leverage his reputation and legacy is enough to know you do not want to fail his orders. As I said to my friend he does not make threats he makes promises.

Betrayal definitely stings. That being said, I can’t be too upset at Aoyama for doing what he did. He hardly had a choice in the matter. If anything, I’m just worried for him, and I’m impressed that he still managed to conduct himself like he did throughout the school year.

I was always sus of French kid after the season 1 finale when he pops up at the end and asks his class if anyone wondered where he was. I even commented on Crunchyroll that I thought his plotline in the story could be a potential future source of betrayal. Nobody believed me then and even questioned if I was brain dead. Now that I was proven right, well nothings changed because no-one believes me when say I called it. That's okay though because, I friggin Called It!
TLDR: I'm just glad some one else has it recorded that they called it too and that the clues were there all along for you to find before the reveal.

I wouldnt say the parents suck. Im sure if Deku's mom had the chance to give her pride and joy a quirk, she would have done it too. AFO just gave Aoyama a quirk, some random quirk he would never need, then waited years before calling in to collect the debt. They didnt know what kind of man he was, and if they did anything to betray him they would be killed, their son included. They just wanted to protect their son, and the son just wanted to protect his parents. Theyre victims, not villains.

It's not as easy as "We're in the barrier so we're safe from AFO."
How do you know AFO doesn't have people inside those shelters. We know that he's not the one that directly kills those who betray him. Some of those people were killed while in prison so AFO has friends everywhere.
The parents were wrong but it's a disservice to the sutuation to try not to understand that AFO will kill their son if they don't comply.

Someone pointed out to me All Might and Deku's beliefs in such a cool way this episode.

All Might: "You, too, can become a hero."
Deku: "You still can be a hero!"

All Might lifted everyone up from the ordinary while Deku rescued people from their guilt.

To people saying we prewatched based on some theories we said in this ep:
We never have seen this, some of these are just a really good guesses! Think of it like this: as the editor of this series (Kenny), I am rewatching one of my favorite shows like 50 times each episode for editing and notice a TON of things when analyzing frame by frame, and Aoyama being the traitor is one of the theories I have due to a LOT of little evidence, among others. I appreciate yall thinking I prewatched, but really some of these are just year long theories I've made, you're just finally hearing them all because we are caught up and both blind reacting! As for Montana, She's just a Genius, you guys should know that by now haha
