Always enjoy riding along
ОтветитьWhat class Bravo airport was the most expensive as far as landing fees, handling fees, etc? Like to see a video on that if you have the info. Possible comparison between Class Bravos.
ОтветитьThanks for another fine video Martin!
ОтветитьBeautiful flight and excellent explanation of your weather deviation choices.
Thanks for sharing.
Always a pleasure to ride with you Martin. Again love your narration and expert airmenship!🙌
ОтветитьWorked at comair for 10 plus years , did you grab some skyline chili?
ОтветитьI caught your LOC/VOR mistake right off, and wondered how long before you realized it. Not long! Well done. I really really enjoy your trips to Class Bravo airports. Keep them coming!
ОтветитьI have XM and ADSb. I prefer XM. Seems to be faster updates and higher resolution. I have some screen shots of both showing the same weather if you would like to see them and compare.
ОтветитьI also liked when you said you are Sirius-ly considering XM weather!
ОтветитьMartin, You call $ 5.81/gallon alright? Sorry buddy, I love your videos, but I'll have to disagree on the pricing. LOL
ОтветитьAlways enjoy your videos but this one was really great for someone like me who is working on their instrument ticket. Video shots of the panel and iPad helps to understand what you are doing and why you are doing it. I would really look forward to any similar videos. Thanks again.
ОтветитьGood deductive reasoning going on there. I used to live in Cincinnati in '82 thru '84. Did a ton of touch & go's at the airport back when it was a Delta hub. I will never forget seeing the aftermath of the Air Canada flight crash on the side of the runway in '83. The plane wreckage was very daunting, the plane's charred cabin was not covered over and investigation by NTSB was ongoing. Not a site to see while doing touch & go's at the airport. Anyway, another masterful and educational video. Thanks for the flight and take care.
ОтветитьYour thumbnail game is getting stronger Martin! I like it!
ОтветитьMartin, I really enjoy the pop ups on the screen does it add much time to editing? I think Matt Guthmiller uses XM in his Bonanza I guess it shows weather in real time is that right?
ОтветитьHey Martin, this is awesome! I actually just flew Into Cinci this past weekend for my IFR long cross country and funny enough made the smoothest landing I’ve ever made on that long runway. I did the Ils 18C, but only downside was that it was night and I didn’t get much of a look at the airport, but at least I can say I was there!
ОтветитьHi Martin, Thanks for your video and how you presented the weather map. I always respect your skills and the time you spend to edit those videos, thanks again.
ОтветитьGreat video, Martin. For me, one of the more stressful parts of the flight is still after landing at the destination. How do you prepare for that part?
ОтветитьGreat detail and good catch on that mistaken VOR Freq.
ОтветитьHey Martin, great video, the rain in those red areas haven been known to erode paint and destroy decals. I was wondering if you can select those frequencies from your gps rather than entering from the chart?
ОтветитьHey Martin, awesome video as always!
A question...every time that you fly on a different FL, do you use different throttle and prop configurations? Like shows on the aircraft perfomance tables? Or do you use same config for every flight?
Thanks!! Greetings from Brazil!
Excellent flight Martin. Great narrative and educational on weather and navigation. Look forward to your trip home.
ОтветитьA well done video and great tutorial on how to prepare and fly into Class Bravo airspace.
ОтветитьGreat video Martin. Looking forward to the next one!
ОтветитьWell, Martin, you flew right over my house. Live in Lexington and fly out of Georgetown (27K). Most of the time, I fly to Cincinnati is for a $100 hamberger at Luken (KLUK). However, Sky Galley is now closed due to the virus and probably will never open again. It was one of the best $100 hamberger places in the region. BTW - There is talk of changing KCVG's classification from Bravo to Charlie.
ОтветитьHey Martin. We were glad to have you stop by at our FBO, it was a pleasure to meet you and we hope you had a good time while here! We recently lowered our fuel prices and we hope to have you back soon!
ОтветитьThe value of ground based radar is important. Your evaluation of other resources is spot on. Color is more a indication of height or severity. Typically red represents developing convective activity tops 150 to 250. Not bases, but what’s underneath can be bad also. Red is more indicative of turbulence, or potential icing. I’m not encouraging flying through red, but adding to the discussion of evaluating color. I feel the best option is to deviate like Martin did. The risk with the red Martin was seeing could have been higher updraft moisture super cooled potential icing. Although the temperature seemed to be around 12 deg you could see radical temperature changes combined with the cold water droplets. The risk value is high.
Ground based radar looks up where airborne radar can evaluate different elevations relative to your altitude. Ground based radar is a great advancement. It is important to understand that these are ground based resources, that the color is not necessarily an indicator of our relative altitude intensity. Martin’s comment about gathering other information is key, don’t use ADSB as a sole source.
Great flight. Congestion in arrival contributed to the freq mistake, however real factor in the mistake was rushing your brief while descending as a single pilot. May I suggest build your approach first then brief. Treat them as 2 steps, or events. This allows you to use the brief as a checklist and catch errors. The brief can become shorter this way and timed maybe while leveled off and focused. Building becomes box and frequency setup only. ABBA Attis Build Brief Approach checklist.
ОтветитьBeautiful. Tango Bravo shredded the clouds for the following jet! Love the way you make it look simple, what is essentially a lot of work.
Ответитьfirst one i've seen with wind and rain.👍👍
ОтветитьLove my XM but have always used both....
ОтветитьHi Martin, I need your help please. We both have the Lynx Tx, and Avidyne IFD. Do you have any issues with both these devices having their WIFI outputs on together? I continually have the Avidyne wifi drop out, so I usually use the L3 wifi to run my IPad using FF. I could use your advice if you’re having no issues w both devices running their Wifi signals and you get no issues please. Thanks for any and all advice and help. I have contacted both Avidyne & L3 but still no resolution except Avidyne says I should kill the L3 wifi and have only one running.
ОтветитьAs always, good stuff. That said, what is total number of configured cameras; what are your setup & breakdown time durations & once home what is your camera download time allotment?
ОтветитьYou make it look so easy! You could add a bobble-head doll to show the turbulence inside the cockpit. Your camera stabilization is probable filtering it. Good job nice video.
ОтветитьWhat type of headset do you use?
Ответить😎😎😎
ОтветитьHey Martin, great trip... how old is the weather information you see on the display ? Brgds, Erik
ОтветитьNice flight Martin...thanks for sharing. I wonder if KCVG would of let you request RNAV 36 instead of the ILS? I like using RNAV's instead of the other approaches available just out of habit I guess. Just wondering. Thanks. Don/NE Ohio :-)
ОтветитьReally nice informative video as always. I like how calm you are No matter what is happening in the cockpit. Calm demeanor and never afraid to ask ATC for something. Always a pleasure to watch. Very cool on the cirrus endeavor. You and your channel are growing in a great way.
ОтветитьThanks Martin
ОтветитьI know you like your in the ear headset, however, does it bother you that the mic boom is constantly gyrating about? You reach for it often, likely involuntarily. I guess a trade off instead of using head clamps....
ОтветитьHeard a call for N53417 which I have time in, very cool.
ОтветитьGood video Martin!
ОтветитьCincinnati often has strong winds. I'm always driving to CVG to pick or drop off my kids. This video is interesting. Thanks.
ОтветитьExactly what model Bonanza do you fly?
ОтветитьLike the avionics!
ОтветитьThanks, Martin. Excellent quality. I enjoyed following along. and learning. Ewan from SA
ОтветитьGreat video. Vary educational.keep the lessons coming .Thank you
ОтветитьI'm working on instrument ground now and watching your approaches in real VMC is very helpful. Organized, sometimes hectic, but remaining calm and confident. Helpful to see how it should be done.
