I'm on pro tools first (PTF) was free with my Focusrite 212 Gen 3, thanks for the vid.. I have subscribed. Apparently I can only have 3 saved recording with PTF.. I want to record with Video of me playing guitar and match with recordings made on PFT but dont think I can do that.

Hi Adam. I have a problem with Pro Tools 12. I have an older iLok and my Pro Tolls can't find it. I was using Pro Tools and suddenly it stopped working. My internet dropped out for a second, and after that I cannot open Pro Tools. What can be the fault? I uninstalled iLok-Manager and reinstalled it. Can you help me to find out what's wrong. Avid or iLok do not answer on my messages.

I installed pro tools first took a look at it and installed it. i hate having to sign in online, and the software going on line to upload mystuff. The time also it took to load up was a factor, the more i did not like it. Of course only 3 projects was mean, its just corporate greed, instead of giving them a positive publicity it just smacks of greed and meanness. Protools to me or any software that wants you to sign in is spyware to me, off with its head and off my pc.

I've followed everything perfectly up until the 45 minute mark but my "rhythm" track won't pan at all. I rewatched to see if I missed anything but nope. Will not pan at all. Anything you might think of that would cause this?

I have began exploring recording and mixing recently. I started using Pro Tools First and I almost drop it because of the limit of 3 projects, but then I realized that I can save my projects locally. I think that change has been introduced in more recent versions.

When I saw how long the video was going to be, I nearly clicked away - but going from an HD24 to computer is such a huge step- I figured I'd stick my head in for 5 minutes to see what the instructional style would be like - and here I am still here at the end of the video! I think you are in pre fader metering mode. thats why your meters doesnt change with the faders. İmao

Turn off Pre Fader metering (Options menu) to see the levels change as you adjust the fader. I forget if that option is available in PT First or not. Definitely in the bigger versions.

I've got a question. I've got Pro Tools 12.7. But I'd like to also load Pro Tools First so I can use it with students, so they don't have to buy it. When I try loading PT First, I get a message saying, "Pro Tools will optimize the workspace database file for use with this version of Pro Tools. The updated workspace file will not be compatible with earlier versions of Pro Tools. To backup your workspace file now, click quit. The database file is located here..." Is it safe for me to load PT First if I've already got hundreds of Pro Tools songs on my computer? Will I still be able to edit my older work? Thanks in advance.

Fantastically useful! Having just acquired Pro Tools Lite with a midi keyboard - and never having used a DAW before (unless you count Audacity...;-)) the interface looked daunting, and the limitations - discovered elsewhere - also looked crazy (as you go on to say). Watching the first part of your video made the interface just about as clear as I could have wanted - and tempted me to actually dive in and try it out. But then your comments on the limitations (and cost of the full version) confirmed my doubts, and your recommendation for Reaper also confirmed other advice on the latter that I've seen. I'll be downloading it and checking out your video on that. Subscribed. Oh yes, extra thanks for not being American! :-D
Oh, OK just one small criticism - it would have been better to have your face on the right side of the screen, where your head would not have been in front of those track controls on the left. I'll have to mark you down to 99.5% instead of 100%. Sorry.

All I'm looking for is an external stand alone midi editor to use with Fairlight in Davinci Resolve. I installed FL Studio but it kept rendering all my VST plugins as not recognized and the FL Studio itself was 'FAILED TO ACTIVATE" I really would prefere not to have to learn a whole different DAW 'just' so I can access a midi piano role but if theres a VST plug-in out there I'd appreciate someone pointing the way.

I already have logic pro. Im thinking of getting this just to know how.

Why mess with this crap at all? Avid just want your money. Install Reaper and be done with it.
