worthless if most people cant GET IT...next.
ОтветитьIt's amazing seeing the hackability of this design and I love the direction MNT and Framework are going. I have the funds for something like this but I'll admit - this isn't for me and I think that's okay. Much respect for the honest review! :)
ОтветитьIt looks really cool, but I keep thinking I can buy 3-4 Thinkpads or this one. 🤷
ОтветитьIs it durable like a ThinkPad?
ОтветитьMy wife left me
ОтветитьWe have moddable laptops before custom mice.
ОтветитьI really like this computer!
Ответитьtoo bad that it is not so affordable 😞 Good try, though
ОтветитьIf you concern about security.. This is the solution.. Need a little adjustment
ОтветитьLove the idea, not crazy about the implementation. Go buy an old used workstation laptop, the Dell precision m4800 for example. Socketed CPU and GPU. Something I'd much prefer to a soc mainboard. And the battery uses 18650 cells, so you could replace them with modern ones and have better than original battery life! It's much cheaper and more powerful solution and definitely what I'd recommend who wants to hack hardware.
ОтветитьIf you're going to make a computer like this... you have to give it TOTL specs. Otherwise, it's just a toy, and their target audience is never going to buy it.
Ответитьwhy not get a Framework Laptop if you like ifix it
ОтветитьBut does it run Windows 2000?
Ответитьi couldnt care less about having a thin laptop tbh
Ответитьgood review ty
Ответитьwell i have a B490 lenovo pentium 4 laptop which i modded with an 13 3110 laptop processer from a 13 laptop which i had lying around with its graphics card done for
edit:- both were my fathers old work laptops
my thinkpad was cheaper lol
ОтветитьCan it be used with VisionFive 2?
ОтветитьThis is a really cool idea.... but it feels completely worthless unless you have too much time and money on your hands. Any one of us who aren't buying MacBooks are probably buying used Thinkpads on eBay and loading them with Arch. I'm curious to see where all this goes, though.
ОтветитьI wanted to get this, but the cost of almost 2k is too high for the performance it's outputting. It's an amazing piece of hardware and it's amazing that you have access to upgrade it and change it to your liking. But it's too high of a price for that kind of freedom.
ОтветитьIt is a cool project but honestly if you want an open source laptop you can get up to a thinkpad t440p/ t540p flash libreboot or coreboot, install everything you need and get the advantage of x86.
ОтветитьWell, that CPU swapping is a stretch, because You are swapping computer board.
And that whole “laptop”, is only enclosure for it, albeit with many features😅
Is it too late to cease Ai? Remember Hansel and Gretel? Being tricked? With irresistible goodies? Are we to be... laid off by Ai? Ai jobloss for everyone? Swell robotics doing everything? Or worse, imprisoned inside an... Ai new world order?
ОтветитьWe won't be putting stickers on anything. What 'sticker' do you want? Hp? DELL? Apple? Or Microsoft? Spare me.
ОтветитьNICE lil unit but the price is a huge rip off
ОтветитьOs3 bro. Bangladesh
ОтветитьArduino of laptops
ОтветитьI like it, finally not some scrap laptop. but something I put together for myself, I have old HP laptops more than 20 years old, disassembled or in one piece, they still had material.
This could be one of those, but it's priced in gold, and for many people, including me, that's unaffordable. Then you can buy a second hand business laptop with a replaceable memory NVME, SSD, Procesor. But the initiative, if you do not look at the price, especially the scythe is 10/10. Good luck and good hope to those who manage to buy the configuration that suits them.
Mmmm
ОтветитьBruh.... it's HACKABLE....
you want an LED..... fricken add one....
Tak perlu keyboard rasanya. Tengah fikir.
Ответитьubuntu battery indicator bug
ОтветитьIt's a ridiculous laptop. 40 years we're hearing about scalability for PCs : it simply doesn't exist. For keyboard, try a Thinkpad X220.
ОтветитьHow much it is laptop
ОтветитьHoly damn, I was looking a laptop for Kali testing and this is exactly what I was looking for, thanks!
Ответитьi love a chunky laptop. its the reason why i bought a toughbook.
Ответить40mm?
my cyberdeck is like 90mm thick, 40mm is a dream thickness
It may be thicker than the MacBook air, but try getting new replacement parts for the MacBook...
ОтветитьЭтот ноутбук приближает Коммунизм
ОтветитьI stopped this video at ctrl not being where it is usually and you not explaining why, you just went to say what you had to do to be comfortable again (remapping) we want to know things about open source hardware...
ОтветитьNo cfg ?
ОтветитьThis is garbage,i thought it had some xeon type processor, turns out its a glorified rasberry pie.
Ответитьthe wifi issue is why some people install both gnome and KDE. just to avoid the bug.
ОтветитьThe non-standard keyboard is such a plus for me. Standard keyboards are terribly designed, the only thing keeping them in existence is history and familiarity. Especially the spacebar, there's no reason for the spacebar to be that big, especially on a laptop where space is so scarce. The split spacebar was a smart decision.
ОтветитьSchuster Field
ОтветитьWow, Very Cool, but very expensive for me (and for average hungarian users)... :'(
Ответить$2000 for this is tooooooooo high
ОтветитьMost bulky smartphone by far
ОтветитьDeckow Brook
ОтветитьTrackball is amazing
