thank you for this! It really shows you can create interesting & even complex sounds by using just a few 'simple' modules.
the Grid AND YOU have made me realise this.
so now I reach for the Grid to build stuff instead of reaching for a VST instrument most of the time (unless I need something I don't know how to build).
Really enjoying all of your videos in bitwig. Keep up the great work. Would love to see some ideas on creating glitch style music in bitwig using interesting sound design. Just putting that out there :)
ОтветитьBasically like physical modelling. If turning the resonance up it makes the filter to an instable osc. Add some chorus and you got some nice submarine sounds there.
ОтветитьLove this! Very Boards of Canada sounding patches here.
One note on the audio mix, it was really difficult to hear the synth output when compared to your narration in this vid, especially towards the beginning. It would probably color the sound quite a bit, but maybe compressing Bitwig output separate from your narration would result in a more consistent listening experience in the video?
You could extend this method by putting 2 or more (why not :) ) filters in sequence. Use slight differences in cut-off frequency to add dynamics to the sound. Or ofcourse by slightly and slowly modulating the frequencies. This is also usefull to create brick-wall filters, with a slope of 48dB/oct or higher. Just make sure the cutoff freq is controlled by the same signal.
