An issue with several of the hobbies I'm into (cars, audio, fountain pens, etc) is that many people believe expensive=better, however, the truth is, that logic never works in the real world. For example in audio, you may think the best headphones cost$5,000 or more, some even think the best cost $50,000 or more. However the truth is.... a pair of $50 IEMS, has better objective sound quality than things that cost over $500 and even $1000. There is a level where the amount of performance/cost is drastically reduced and people don't understand that. Which is why a honda civic runs laps around 70's and early 80's ferraris, as well as gtr's, rx-7's and supras.

Lets not forget some of our favorite JDM cars like the supra and rx7 handle great but objectively suck on track compared to other options like the gtr and civic, even then we see a modified civic whipes the floor with a gtr.
