The information given in the first 15 minutes gives me hope for this country IF we can keep those young men from being killed fighting other people’s wars. Seems the newest generation of male voters doesn’t want their children killed before birth in the name of reproductive freedom. They don’t want to be passed over because they are masculine. They are more intelligent than the generations before them.

Looking at the last democrat cabinet and people surrounding the administration, was there a single masculine person? I think you are missing something about why men - esp young men are making the shift. I shall woman-splain it. In the 90s, we looked around and saw mostly white men at the top of the power structures, but were totally internalizing everyone is equal. We watched the Cosbys and Hugstables and laughed and identified. We wanted to be uplifting. We weren’t racist and didn’t understand how anyone could be. We wanted better. What we didn’t realize is that it takes 20-30-40 years to really bring about equality near the top. In 2000, women hit equal rates of admission to med school, but in 2005, almost all department chairs were still men. Today as a grownup I say duh, they have to build a pipeline and put the work in because if you just put people in charge because they check certain boxes, but don’t have the skills and ability to do the job, it sets your cause back. Obama came along and said, we are almost there. If we break a few more glass ceilings we will all be equal. It was hope and change and the other side was the leader of the forever war party.
Unfortunately, Obama wasn’t willing to call a spade a spade. If he had a son, it would be Treyvon. He perpetuated hands up don’t shoot - instead of saying don’t attack the cops and stop criming. We realized that the gender pay gap isn’t real - it’s a parent penalty. Childless women hugely benefited. Childless women actually make the most money in real comparison - why? Parents have doctor appt and parent teacher conferences and need to be home for dinner every night. We gave up real equality to have a picture of it.

Where does that leave us? White men disillusioned because they can’t provide for their families. Married women are doing ok. Unmarried women scarred by bad sexual relationships and abortions that they thought would be no big deal have a choice. They can double down on relativism and put on a P hat - which seems very popular in the moment or they can realize what they’ve done and blame men or they can be devastated at their broken life and realize the women they mocked are happy while they feel empty. That last one isn’t real popular.

I am not convinced that Christianity in its raw state is sufficient to win over disenfranchised men who have no sense of meaning. It’s hard to understand what it means to be disenchanted from supernatural religious belief, but speaking from that standpoint myself, it is not really possible for me to have a conventional belief in god. I believe that transcendence is important, but I can no longer reach it through a conventional literal belief.

I am one of those early 30s women and I have a few male friends who are very liberal but childless so they couldn't understand when they asked my husband and me why we became conservative. The answer of "We had a son" was a shock to them.

But they have never had someone tell them that their 4 year old is dangerous because he is a white male. It was shocking to hear and realize how people felt.

A very critical point discussed is the warning that conservatives need to remember the boomer esque "pull yourself up by your bootstraps, man up, I suffered back in the 80s and made it work so you can do it too" is also just not the way forward either. After I exited my Naval service, a bitter young veteran fed up with modernity (and recently converted to the Right, losing many left-leaning friends), I returned to my hometown. A therapist on-base helped me discover that I had sacrificed a major anchor of the person I used to be as a child, and recommended I pick it back up again. I did this the moment I set foot back in my home, returning to the Kung Fu school I used to go to as a younger, more confident and passionate youth to finish what I started.

I had a realization recently. Long ago, I had stopped Kung Fu because a more pragmatic, modern-attuned, "intelligent" me figured that if I switched to a efficient modern art like MMA, it would confer an increase in combat power for the same effort. I'm now realizing that my decline in the last 15 years could be traced back to this decision.

But why? What, exactly, did traditional Kung Fu have over modern arts that made it such a stabilizing force for my mental health? Was it the bowing and the uncomfortable, sweaty robes? Was it the meticulous precision and repetition of punches and painfully low stances you'd never actually use in a fight? The ritualistic cleaning of the floor before and after each lesson? Was it the impracticality of many of its most enduring traditions?

...What if the impracticality was the secret?

I realized that all these forms, rituals, and traditions cause your mind to dissolve the link between process and outcome, because you were knowingly and intentionally taking useless acts seriously. This wasn't just true for Kung Fu and Karate, but all spiritual practice. A Mslim doesn't NEED to ensure their mat faces Mecca, but does so anyway. You don't NEED to fast during Lent or Ramadan, but you do so anyway. You don't need to take spiritual traditions seriously at all... which is why you do them anyway, so you can prove to yourself that you can. So that you create a mind that doesn't can act beyond self-interest or optimal outcome. So that you can create a mind that can make real sacrifice - because a life well lived will be full of it.

I would be willing to wager that you, as a practicing religious person reading this, have subconsciously or consciously learned to appreciate the process of life, instead of worrying about the outcome. You realize that respect for yourself starts with respect for what you are doing, and NOT what doing it will get you. That "what's in it for me" - the core question of modern liberalism - is the wrong question.

Why would I want to listen to a party that hates everything about me?
Why would I want to listen to a bureaucracy that has made every aspect of my life worse?
Why would I take moral advice from a party that has taken stances against property rights, equality under the law, freedom of expression, and right to self determination?
Why would I trust the word of a party that has consistently lied about everything for decades?
Why would I pay attention to the moral grandstanding of a bunch of degenerates and self destructive freaks?
Why would I trust the judgement of a party that has backed every terrorist, dictator, and evil force on the planet for 2 centuries?
Why do we let the Democrat Party exist?

If Democrats want to fix their brand, they need to stop lying and being exploitative. We can all see what they’re doing. History (especially forensic history) will remember. Every business venture they’re at the helm of is hemorrhaging profits because they’re not nearly as smart as they think they are. I think Dems have already irreparably damaged their future. If Republicans demonstrate integrity, intelligence, and allegiance to the Constitution - the Democrat party is finished.
