Also, about the 2* DTHR being easy to farm in comparison to 3* NM

There are two reasons for this. First is due to the fact that DTHR really increase your AR and OD a lot
1) AR increase makes map easier to read (explained in my previous comment)
2) OD increase makes map harder to acc but gives more pp. Well 2* DTHR usually have the same OD as 3* NM, so it doesn't matter. But it does matter when you compare 2* DTHR and 2* NM

Second reason is rhythm density. 3* maps usually have 2 times more rhythm density in comparison to 1.5* maps. But DT increase rhythm density only in 1.5 times (because speedup is 1.5x). But it doesn't end here. 3* make map less undermapped and stick closer to actual song, when DT is just speeding things up, so the rhythm remains as simple as before.
These two factors make 2* DTHR much easier to acc, what results in such drastic pp difference.

SS gives MUCH MUCH more pp than just S rank FC, especially when it's low S rank aka 93-94 acc.
Your top play have 39pp, when with 97% accuracy it will cost only 17pp. On low S rank it will cost only 10pp.

honestly alternating is more rewarding but singletapping is also a good playstyle, its easy to acc on easier slower patterns. Both are good, i like to switch between them when playing depending on situations

To me, i feel like it's bad to push a certain playstyle. I mostly singletap, while i'm trying to alternate on things i can't singletap. I'm not going to switch to alternating until i deem it better for my play. I can comfortably single tap 250 bpm and that is more than enough for the kind of difficulty range i can play (I'm 5 digit). Also, easier maps usually have low AR (Approach reate), which can make them dense, which in result makes the maps easier to read with HR sometimes.

Do whatever you want really? I've said this before, and I'll say it again, osu! is a preference game. If you want to do something, in some way, then do it. The only reason I started alting is because my speed wasn't satisfactory to me, and DT required it for me. But if you are capable, then you don't need to alt. Just look at Lifeline. Look how far he got purely singletapping. Neither playstyle is superior to the other. They both have their benefits and downsides. So, just do what you feel like.

Don't feel pressured to alternate if you feel more comfortable singletapping. It's all just personal preference so do whatever feels most comfortable. I have a friend who is rank 1.8k and can easily set 500pp+ plays on 7-8 star maps and he hates alternating and alt maps in general.

why not just become a god at alting and single tapping?

Short sliders take some time to get used to. Took me ages to just have my brain know how long to hold them or if i need to follow em. Exposure therapy 🤣

I'm actually really surprised you are playing long maps and trying them over and over again as a new player. Cause for me when i started playing i was only playing short maps and abusing the dt and hr plot hole... but that cost me stamina and concentration when I actually tried to play the game and get some proper pp with good acc.

You should try playing Kto Vse Eti Lyudi, it’s the map that first got me into a more tapping focused playstyle, and I’ve loved playing the higher diffs

If you make the slider follow point bigger, it helps w the problem you're talking about. Then you always know quickly whether you need to follow it or not and can shift your focus to the follow point, since it looks more like a hit circle when it's bigger

It's just preference at the end of the day I can alternate when i feel like it but i mostly singletap on all my sessions it's just really fun pushing ur single tapping speed

18k alt player here, singletap vs alt is mostly just preference. Ideally, you'd be able to both with similar proficiency (e.g. fast jumps can be hard singletapping, but some people find getting good accuracy when singletapping to be easier)

Try out the night of knights skin also the reason you keep missing the easy parts is because almost everyone has that issue no matter the difficulty And your brain isint wired to instinctively click circles yet and its only when your fight or flight kicks in is when you stop missing the circles

Alt is combo game, single tap is accuracy game, either way don't forget to click the circles "to the beat".

The best way technically would be to just single tap whenever it feels right and only alternate when single tap is too slow or to little stamina but its a video game you can do whatever the fuck you want i don't even play stanndard so i am talking out of my ass
