Instrumentally super impressive, but to me, a worthy follow up vocalist to a young Collins still has to be found. None come even close. They might have more stage presence and all that, but not the right punch and timbre. Some singers are irreplaceable, think Foreigner without Lou Gramm and even Queen without Mercury. Even if nobody can claim Paul Rodgers is a bad singer, he was not the right replacement either. Magic implies the right key elements. Don't use Ersatz if the Great Magicians Book says to add a spoonful of real delicious coffee. Don't use glasshouse strawberries if the same book asks to throw 3 supreme quality strawberries in the kettle. It won't work. Replacing Peter Gabriel with Collins worked. Replacing Collins until now didn't really.

Maybe we didn't need Rothery on the Lamia? Hackett's best solo on it has to be on the box set when he redid it. Can't fix what's not broken. However I do love Steve R. - wonderful material with Marillion! Agree?

I recently saw Steve Hackett in concert at the Stafford Center just outside of Houston. It was a great show. He really knocked it out of the park with Suppers ready!! 74 years old and he is still going strong! Simply Amazing!!

Steve makes the best use of pitch shift I’ve heard. He has the +8va return isolated and volume pedal controlled which gives it a very organic behavior for the electric guitar.

I'm 57 years old, have listened to everything, have been playing guitar since I was 15 and I have to say that nothing has brought me to tears like the last 5 minutes of this video. It's an experience I can't quite describe.
