Driveclub: Playstation's Fallen Masterpiece

10 years later, still the best game to play.

I own Driveclub and Driveclub VR and love them both. I enjoy it now more than even Gran Turismo. It’s my current #1 favorite PlayStation 4 games of all time. It might not be flawless, but damn it’s a good time.

I still play this game but i
it gets boring without dlc content since now to got removed from the store, lack of things to do and easy to level up, all in all a good game that had a lot of potential but had issues when it launched and eventually shut down due to the studios closing

man, I have rewatched this video so many times, always a pasisonate blast. Would love to see some similar game in 20204 or later, clean hyperrealism combined with stunning scenery and a banger soundtrack

Driveclub was mid af, it doesn't even deserve a video. I say was because it was so bad you cant even purchase it anymore. Yes the rain effects were great, so what. It's a fucking racing game not a weather simulator.

bro still playing this game and i love it . graphics, gameplay , the car selection etc. but only now really found out after all these years that the game is dead , with the “comming soon “ banners still there on new tracks

Why not release it on PC and create custom servers

I genuinely cannot get over how fucking incredible this game looks, especially it being from 2014.

graphics from year 2300, banger music, mobile app function (club, networking, races etc.), almost all car models. it is still a masterpiece. they need to bring it back on pc.

When i was a kid, i always thought gran turismo 4 was the benchmark for life like graphics in a video game especially since it came out for the ps2. And ever since, i never really found a game to match it, until driveclub came out, and i first tried it out at a best buy when stores still had demos. And i was blown away with the graphics. Looking back, i still remember this launch title for the ps4 and still looks better than half the racing games out there today

The craziest part is that this game came out back in 2014 and still beats any game in 2024 in graphics

The graphics on this game even on the ps4 is vastly better than GT7 or Forza Motorsport which were designed for the current gen consoles. Crazy. I don’t know what engine they are using but it’s far superior to any racing game even today. Ridiculous. They need to make a ps5 remaster

bought Motor Fest, I regret it, trash in every way, then I tried Grand turisimo 7, bored with it super fast. did not like it, way to stiff, hard to handle, I can't really feel if im driving at 150 or 70 it just feels exactly the same, I keep miscalculating the turns because of that, and the handling is aweful on every car, I basicly have to almost stop the car before every turn to get around it, how is that fun??. that's when I realised how incredible Driveclub was, perfect graphics gameplay and the simplicity, handling is great, I also like to play 3rd person view, and I like that the car tilts a little towards the direction you steer, feels good. But in GT7 the camera angle is locked on the car rear no matter how hard you turn, feels very bad.

The drifiting is still not good.

DC has the most realistic night driving, you literally cant see shit. But I dont think the developers compensate for this with the competitors AI, they just drive like it's daylight.

Driveclub is a type of game they dont make anymore: No shit, no cringe, just racing in the most fun way possible. Its not over the top like Forza Horizon and The Crew. Actually, the only game for me that comes close to driveclub, is NFS Hot Pursuit. I have played the Remaster on Day One and felt like I am playing something like driveclub again. Now I am waiting until NFS gets it shit together, Sony decides to make an arcade racer next Gran Turismo or somebody at Microsoft or Ubisoft has the idea for a shift towards something more grounded, thanks to the festival-vibe fatigue. In the meantime, I have fun with the current rise of Old School Rallye games.

This is still to this day , my favourite racing game of all time. I played them all, from need for speed to forza horizon and so on. This one right here holds such a special place in my heart, it's hard to describe, this game is just perfect. Such a shame the studio was cancelled by sony. They definitely shot themselves in the foot. This could've been a next franchise right next to the boring gran turismo.

I my opinion the developers are ridicules they not renewed the Licensing for the Game and Cars they Just take the Money and bye tzzz BOOOMER

Project Car 3 on the PC actually looks really good. For some reason on the console it looks like crap apparently. I love Project Cars 3 it walks that perfect "hyper realism" line. No rewind, and it just marks the braking zones instead of giving you a dynamic full racing line, so it demands more from you than most modern sims, but the driving is more accessible to balance it out.

tbh if there would be a patch I don't want it to be 60fps, the 30fps keeps the sense of speed intact, 60fps would destroy it.

I have lately bought Drive Club game on disc and I was shocked how I missed this great game. Great driving great graphics great weather effects. I wished I had got the DLC before they took it out 😢

How in the world is it possible that this game looks better than 90% of modern racing games???

Whaaaat? I just heard about driveclub for the first time and am watching this video. How on earth could they achieve this graphics with the PS4 Hardware?
Also just read on reddit that it was made by the same studio that made the Motorstorm Series and Sony closed the studio.
If i remember correctly PS4 raw power was about half of a GTX680 and the studio achieved THIS! That is insane, what a stupid decision to let go programmers with this talent

imagine if you could mod in all the stuff thats retroactively missing in the campaign (weather and such) or use a custom multiplayer client to keep the game alive
