EMaj7 is the backbone of Eyes of the World by the Grateful Dead, if you like the chord.
ОтветитьGreat video Paul!! Minor nitpick: when playing that Emaj7, doesn't he reach over with his index finger to play the bass note on the low E string, 7th fret? So second inversion there as well? Sure sounds that way to me. Same thing as Hendrix does in Wind Cries Mary by the way. Gives that awesome not-really-sure-whats-coming feel.. 🤩
ОтветитьThis song is what inspired me to pick up a guitar in 92. I’ve played the Csharp min differently since then. I play it down at the 4th and still have all the embellishments but the tone is slightly different - it’s brighter and not as muddy. I think I’ll try to change.
ОтветитьI’ve studied Frusciante probably more than any other guitarist over the last 20 years. I finally got to see John live with RHCP, where I had a front row seat to my guitar hero. He didn’t disappoint…
I love playing Frusciante licks at home just chilling in the studio. I’m inspired by JF more than just about any other guitarist in the world
Great video! Really clear and easy to follow thanks
ОтветитьJust great..thank you..
ОтветитьYou are right. You have to tune it, so the part sounds in tune. It's been done by most players since the beginning, especially in the studio.
ОтветитьLiked and subbed immediately after this amazing insight
ОтветитьI should really throw my guitar away.
ОтветитьI'm actually learning this for my next lesson with my teacher. Think I've got it down. Sounds brilliant
Ответитьnice man. good stuff
ОтветитьPlaying it for about two hours now, it’s so much fun to play!!❤️
ОтветитьI noticed paul really like fruciante stuff. Same here I always found his stuff really creative and unique. And has a lot of finger picking stuff
ОтветитьI was unconscious in the front row for an entire chili peppers concert. Don’t do drugs kids
ОтветитьEasy
ОтветитьPaul David, you don't create works or anything like that instead of playing other people's music
ОтветитьI‘d kill to have your right arm. The way you kinda not move your wrist but still have incredible fine control of what the pick does to the strings. So much control and steeze. Hard to put into words. I come back to this video every once in a while just to see that technique in action on the up beats =D
ОтветитьSomewhat unrelated, but am I alone in thinking that since pitches are written (and even felt) in terms of low to high, I've never understood why closed voicings and open voicings aren't called "tight voicings" and "loose voicings". Or short and tall. Or other variations. As a teacher myself, the visual of "tight vs loose" has been more easy for my students to get to grips with (yes that's a pun on chord grips. No, don't laugh, it's not that funny).
ОтветитьHe really should have dug into the chorus. I have always had a hard time playing that part with the right attack and efficiency.
ОтветитьLove it 😍 !
ОтветитьHow do I play guitar like Garth Brooks?
Ответитьoh man!! I've been playing this song very wrong for more than a decade now, and finally saw this! CLAP CLAP!!!
Ответитьwhat tuning is the guitar supposed to be in?
ОтветитьYou'd be a great cover guitar player.
ОтветитьSecond run through of the “phrase” played at the start of the third verse (between the first and second choruses) there’s a variation to the lick he played over the “B” chord. It’s similar to what you play over the “A” chord during the first and third run throughs.
ОтветитьMike McCready also "borrowed" that Little Wing chord style for Yellow Ledbetter
ОтветитьPeople don't play that riff wrong. Hardly any celebrity guitarist plays their riff or song in the same way twice, they always change or add something, period. You people add your own flavour to it, that's what matters.
Ответитьmf you talk way too much, sorry
ОтветитьThe song that made me wanna learn guitar
ОтветитьTip-top
ОтветитьMany of your john frusciante videos are pretty good. This one is maybe not your best. I mean the low note is often played with the thumb by him in his live videos and stuff so maybe not necsesary to use inversions. Especially on the second chord. Ah ok you had it in the video. Already felt something is a bit off. And he plays it more relaxed. Just doesnt sound so forced. There is also spme different sliding involved in johns play
ОтветитьI hope Frusciante watch this vidoe at the future on somewhere…
Thx for tremendous video Paul
Guitar sounds out of tune imo
ОтветитьYour videos are outstanding! Well done!
ОтветитьEasy to follow tutorial Sir thanks Sir🥹🙏❤️Godbless Sir
ОтветитьTwo things worth noting in John's lesson video for this song (the one you showed a clip of) are 1) he finger picks the intro, and 2) if you imagine how you shake your hand when you accidentally stub your thumb - flinging your hand back and forth all limp-wristed - this is his right-hand strumming technique in the last part of the song (the part with the chorus). You can practice #1 and get great at it, and everyone should, it sounds so much better than trying to hybrid pick it. #2 though... you gotta really change your mind-muscle connections to squeeze the juice out of that.
ОтветитьAnd once again having tiny ass hands makes everything 1000x more difficult. May well be handicapped being this handicapped.
Ответить"the easier way to play a thing is of course the right one" is the first lessons they teached me at my young classic guitar studies (First of all, remember you have 10 fingers u can use to play.. classic guitar players are lazy)
ОтветитьThank you thank you....needed that..be well. D
ОтветитьFala muito nossa ..
ОтветитьGreat video, lovely sound coming from that Strat!
BTW, I think it's funny how many Europeans speak English with an American accent.
Thank you bro! 😎 amazing stuff great video really worth it , you nailed it 🙏🏼 straight forward to the point , cheers
ОтветитьYour wrapping your thumb around the low e too much for it to reverb right john sticks his thumb straight up alot to stop himself from doing this exact thing
If you trying to copy god do it right
Just got your ad on your video.... Crazyyy.
Ответитьyeah, you play that pretty damn good!! wow.
Ответить
