I always took Ikaku's bankai being bad a consequence of him not training it/using it often. Mixed in with the fact that he is scared to show it off in a fight. I was hoping he'd get the Renji treatment for his bankai at some point but never happened lol

Hypothetical question: If Bankais can't be repaired, does damaging Byakuya's petals during Senbonzakura damage the Bankai?

I wonder how many of these are like Renji's, to where because their bond isn't fully there, the bankai's are not fully awakened

I kinda thought Ikkaku was like Renji; an incomplete bankai. It would explain it's obvious flaws. Its complete state might mean the dragon fully awake when released and recharges again as the fight progressed. The weapon itself not being brittle makes sense as it wasn't refined. I'm sure he practiced in private, but how often did he get to use it as a non-captain?

Ichigo is the worst main character in anime history. Dude is mad weak. His bankai sucks both versions. His shikai is terrible. He gets owned 98% of the time

what is the list even ranking? raw power? actuall strength of the bankai? how its used in the story? becouse soifon's bankai is way better than you give it credit, the arguably weakest captain was able to threten the second espada with a one shot... my man, if jakuhou raikoben was in ichigo's hands the missile would be able to one shot the whole verse. While also tensa zangetsu just gave ichigo a boost from low captain level to mid captain level, the bankai is more usefull for the sick drip not the actual combat prouest

I think Soi Fon just gets real unlucky with her enemies. Barragan has a natural protection against reishi constructs so he can chip away at her explosion, and BG9 being a quincy can do the same, probably more efficiently, on top of being whatever tf he is. I think against pretty much any espada rank 5 and below she would have destroyed them in one shot

You are entirely correct about Tensa Zangetsu. And I didn't even realize he was actually spending most of the series in his Bankai form. It is not surprise now that we know Tensa Zangetsu is his actual Zanpakto, i.e. shikai. So it kinda makes sense in a way. And his hollow form, in a way WAS his Bankai this whole time.

Komamura Bankai is all about grand effect. What happens if a strong opponent just blitz Komamura himself? Why even fight the giant? Remember how Byakuya's Bankai had a safe zone? So what happens when you get in melee range with him during his Bankai, does he wipes himself out?

I think there is no such thing as a weak bankai, because isn't their swords ability mirror their fighting skills , just because it doesn't shoot flames or energy blast doesn't mean it's weak, if anything the soul reaper should practice and refine their fighting skill

feels pretty weird that most of the list consists of bankais i absolutely love. Just thinking back to how they call their bankais’ name gives me literal chills that i supress all about the negative stuff in my mind. Kubo always nails at designing cool stuff

If Shinji trained on his speed more, he can just flash step behind enemy lines, even amongst the stronger enemies (like quincy with schrifts perhaps), bankai, let them kill each other, and leave.

The use of the word WORST is totally subjective. Maybe the wielder just has not realized the true potential the weapon has. A bad track record is a good metric for consideration though. Like the content bro keep it up!

One thing I just thought of. All Captains have to activate their Bankai during their Captaincy Test and demonstrate their capabilities. How the hell did they avoid not causing the Captain's observing the exam from killing each other?

The biggest lie in bleach is Bankai do not repair themselves.

Proof: dog captain can heal and so does his bankai, ikaku going ape shit with a bankai that seemed meant to break. Jizo being absolutely destroyed by the quincy after breaking his glove. Also soifons bankai being able to explode and then reform itself. Same thing with renjis bankai, originally it would fall apart with ease, then they said oh the broken chains wont come back. (Why the f not, his shikai gets torn apart and regenerated, but not his bankai. It was a stupid move on kubos part and it clearly was not decided until after the arancar arc.)

Also technically if the blade is me is true then everyones bankai and shikai is just an extension of themselves so all of the bankai should heal and get stronger as the Shinigami does.

Ikkaku's bankai had so much potential, but he just wasn't up to it. Tried to use it too early and got it demolished.

Shinjis' whole thing is reversing things, so it makes sense that the usefulness of his shikai and bankai is reversed

I don't agree with Mayuris bankai, it changes throughout the series which makes it unpredictable

I think Ginjo Kugo's nameless bankai should be on the list

Naw myuri's banki is far to op to actually rate..the mans banki can be modified on the fly if u think about it he can make it do anything...but he would never make it boring

I always hated how ichigo 1st bankai felt.

I think he should have always had his speed blitz against all opponents but bleach as a shonen kinda functions on dbz rules where your speed is apart of your strength(which I personally dislike).

I kinda wish ichigo still maintained his speedster status and it even could have lead to a fighting style similar to vergil or sephiroth where he swings his blade once but produces many cuts.

I think tite kubo could have been creative enough to work around this strength and still maintain his underdog status by being predictable or not strong enough to slash targets or someone finally matching his speed (ulquiorra or maybe grimmjaw)

I also think Aiden illusions is a perfect foil to his speed as well.

Idk I still love bleach as a series but sometimes I wish kubo stuck to maintaining ichigo bankai powers. We could have seen more from his shikai.

I interpreted the bankai not healing differently. For the longest time I thought it meant that they healed, but they healed to be different from before they were broken either weaker or stronger depending on the character progression of their owner.

Because I literally couldn't imagine they could actually break. Since they were just a manifestation of the shinigamis soul.

Mayuri's bankai main strength is not the poison, is the ability to be modified by Mayuri.

I feel like Mayuri being able to change his bankai makes it deserving of being one of the best as no one else can change what their bankai does.

I think Konjiki Ashizogijizo embodies the complete lack of empathy of its user towards allies and enemies, and the fact that this zampakuto is kinda organic delves into the amoral attitude of Kurotsuchi even for his closest ones given the fact that he has made a lot of modifications to it, even hurting his own zampakutou if it disobeys...

Jakuho Raikoben should be more suitable for Soifon's abilities... more like a sniper rifle which deals a lot of damage with a pinpoint precision than a freakin bazooka that deals zero to none damage and only reduces visibility for its user...

These are my picks for the overall 'worst' Bankai in Bleach! Now like I mention in the video, that doesn't mean weak - these Bankai all suffer from flaws of some kind, but let me know your thoughts on the list! Do you agree, or would you make some changes? Thanks everyone!
