In the US, Aldi carries peanut puffs and they are so darn good. But I noticed that after the pandemic, the price went up, and the size of the bag went down significantly.
ОтветитьLovely video, Diane! The variety looks amazing and delicious!! 🛒🛒 the personal care aisle looks so fun too.
ОтветитьCan not believe you did not showcase the famous Lindt Pyrenees chocolate that they have out every year in France they are simply the best
ОтветитьWe found cépe crisps (among other things). They were delicious!!!
ОтветитьHere is the Cincinnati area of Ohio by the Kentucky border we have an international SUPERSTORE called JUNGLE JIM'S worth a google to check out.
ОтветитьI've seen potato chips served for apéro very commonly... even in some bars
And in all honesty, I prefer Le Petit Marseillais shower gels (and especially their shower creams - Cadum is another brand I love) to any L'Occitane one I've ever tried
NO offense, but any French lower end butter is in another galaxy compared to standard US butter (I've lived in the US and am still shocked by I Can't Believe It's Not Butter, LOL)
French here, about "Le Petit Marseillais" brand : Marseilles soap is in our blood, i'm french from no place in particular due to large changes during my young years, it's everywhere the same ! This brand is special, as they imply in their name the inheritance of a 2600 years old city's traditions and rules, and as far as i know, they stand up to a high level of quality, with very few ingredients (like water, an oil and sodium hydroxyde complex as soap agent, perfumes of course, and by law, stabilisers), and kids friendly range of products.
We don't say it much, but that's a brand we are really really proud of 😅❤ Things we speak only with very close people, yet spreading like wildfire 😅🤣
There is 3 way to do things : the good way, the bad way, and the french way 😉❤🖖
Really enjoyed this video. Where is the location of the Super U you visited in this video???
ОтветитьWow, your French pronouncation is excellent! I'm so impressed. Two points I would disagree with is that potato chips are a definitely served at apero time. And although some grocery stores do have excellent wine departments, in general unless you know the specific vigneron, I would visit a specialty shop to buy wine.
ОтветитьEverything you need to become as obese as an average american obese.
ОтветитьI love the Fermiere chocolate mousses ! 😊
ОтветитьI hope you will come north to Evron, where we live. Evron is the home of Baby belle fromage and amazing ciders. Great restos too.
Ответитьcould you do a video on meat costs in grocery stores and butchers.. thanks
ОтветитьUsed to love getting the Kinder bars and the flavours of Yop that we no longer got in British supermarkets but then they started selling those kinder bars so no need to wait for a trip to france to stock up. If you're going to eat it quickly it's the cheese and bakery products that are the main attraction
ОтветитьMy favorite thing to buy at Super U is the bag of frozen potatoes called, Pommes de Terre à la Sarladaise, cuisinée à la graisse de canard. Je pourrais manger ça tous les jours!
ОтветитьGreat selection of products 😊. I will have to keep an eye out for these next time I go to France. We have 2 french supermarket chains in Portugal so I might see if I can get some of the products there 😊
ОтветитьJuste pour le fromage, je ne pourrai pas quitter la france.
Quand on est un frometon.....
I don't always agree with some of the things you say about France and the French, but here you certainly do us justice.
ОтветитьThe price indicators for the products have minicomputers. I have never seen that before.
ОтветитьThe products chosen by Diane are indeed very common and popular in France, but the brands she selects are among the most expensive... But for a tourist, these are brands without any unpleasant surprises.
ОтветитьA couple of recommendations from me for things to enjoy while in France: Bonne Maman chocolate mousse cups and Monster snacks. ❤
ОтветитьSupermarket is what I miss the most since I left France ♥️
Ответить"le petit marseillais" is not a really soap of Marseille...!
ОтветитьGood
ОтветитьC'est super 👍😊
ОтветитьC'est super 👍😀
ОтветитьBonjour
ОтветитьLes chips 🥰
Ответить🚶🏽♂️Sa sai un grand supermarché 😇
ОтветитьMerci salu
ОтветитьHello Diane! Thanks! 🙏 it's also interesting for me as a Greek to see that the same products that you can find also in Greece are cheaper in France and the salaries in Greece are a lot lower than France!😮
ОтветитьI love the fact you picked a Belgian brand (Delacre) as your first choice!
ОтветитьI love aperiticube, I miss them and Kiri.
ОтветитьCan I bring loose leaf tea INTO France?
ОтветитьHow hard is it to find humane meat in France?
Ответитьyou are so observant, I've lived in france for 42 years and I've never noticed that the chips aren't in the apero section. You mentioned that the French eat them with chicken. (?) I honestly don't know when the French really eat them but of course they consume them.. a lot. do the kids eat them for the gouter? please enlighten me because i really don't know. We never really ate them in my family and in my circle, I guess. I eat them like an American, with a cold beer in front of the tv...
ОтветитьHello. the final S is not silent in the fruit named cassis. Be aware thou that there is a city named Cassis whose final S is silent
ОтветитьLes super marcher sont différents selon la classe sociale moi je vais tre peut au super marcher j'achète mes produits au producteur c'est l'endroit où la nourriture est meilleure
ОтветитьToo bad you don't explain how to know if the wine is made by the same persons who produced the grapes.
It is very important. You know it by looking at the Marianne at the top of the bottle (over the cork).
R = récoltant (they produce their own grapes)
N = négociant (industrial sh*t)
"Lait de Normandie" doesn't mean it's made in Normandie...
It's the contrary. It's made in the same big factory for the whole country. It's not local. It's industrial sh*t.
The same with "au sel de Guérande". May be made anywhere. It's just the salt that comes from Guerande. But maybe the factory is in Czech republik.
Look for the place where it has been made ! Not where the ingredients come from.
You don't need any special machine to eat raclette.
Just use an oven.
Outch , Switzerland gonna sue you for Nestlé being french 🤣
Your U supermarket is strange , every supremarket i've gone in France have ( potato ) chips in the same place as apéro snacks.
French people who buy their bread at the supermarket should have their nationality taken away and banned from living there :p
You don't talk about Pastis or Ricard in the liquor section?
All the south of France is disapointed 😂
Hello!! These are amazing videos and i definitely will go to buy some products as souvenir. How about french coffee and french cat food? I would like to know what are a french brands for cat food specilly. I want to buy souvenirs for my kitties too!
ОтветитьBonjour Diane, I always enjoy your videos. My wife and I live in the Aude, south of Carcassonne. We generally do most of our shopping at a small local grocer that only sells Bio products, but swing by the nearest Leclerc for other items. We spend part of the year in the U.S. as well, and are always shocked by how expensive groceries are there vs. France, especially since we often find French products to be of superior quality. Some of your viewers might be curious to learn how prices compare. Not sure if it's been a topic in any of your other videos. Merci et bonne journée!
ОтветитьLe supermarché de ma ville natale où je vais souvent c est à dire Cholet. Vous habitez à Angers je crois ainsi que vous l aviez dit dans une de vos vidéos . Bonne soirée à vous. Michel
ОтветитьVery interesting but I would have liked to see a close-up of prices for the items you selected.
