This is not about who gets their way, it is about providing a safe concise efficient airspace transition. Listen up dopes: communicating complete information in a few words is what is needed and must happen.

ОтветитьMaybe some context is missing here that gives a misleading bias; I always assume so especially with media today, but if this is all the conversation that happened, then yeah controller is a dick; either way should had taken 10 more seconds before starting the day for more coffee if his excuse for being that rude is “I just started the day”

ОтветитьI watched one of these video's a long time ago, and the pilot (either a Qantas or Speedbird heavy) put ATC in their place. Something along the lines of "I don't appreciate your unprofessional attitude". Funniest thing was some of the US pilots trying to console the ATC with lines like "you weren't that bad, sir"

ОтветитьIt's not like air space has a holiday period where they can repaint everything and have some training days to catch up on everything that they forgot about.
Everything gets documented, every day. Changes to a taxi way label would be crazy to happen without the right changes, briefings and approvals.

ОтветитьEspecially in the age where we are seeing more and more helicopter mishap at airports, this tantram is particularly egregious for the simple fact you are risking other people's lives while getting involved in your feelings.
ОтветитьThe atc guy is responsible for all actions and directions he gives, until he hands off air traffic, a pilot accepts to fly under their own guidance or vfr.
IF a controller is unsure of something, or something has changed and he doesnt have a mental picture.....he SHOULD do what this one did.
The you wont be cleared for the rest of the day was wrong, thats because his pride was challenged. And that was unacceptable.
Apart from that, the controller did what he felt was safe and kept everyone safe.
He didnt refuse G2 either...just said things have changed while ive been away and im not famiar with it so uncomfotable giving you MY clearance, however, if you want to use it you are welcome but it is at your risk, so if anything happens its all on you and i hereby removed from responsibility.

N888sn was wrong to argue on air. The tone was Unprofessional, uncalled for and not useful over the air. The pilot of n888sn is not responsible for 10s of thousands of lives, only his chopper. ATC is responsible for all and need a FULL mental picture, not a narrow one like N888SN
