As for why everything is better outside of america....it's simple : american cuisine is't actually american. It's cuisine from all over the world , that poor imigrants brought when they first colonized the new world. And since most of them were poor , and the biggest concern wasn't it being healthy , but rather having something to fill your stomach with , they made a lot of ...let's call them "adaptations".
The same dishes that you see in american cuisine , will often apear in other regional cuisines .....but be much better because of that.

Anyway , over time , those practices (of cutting corners , and saving money , delivering an fast eating experience) became an bussiness practice in american restaurants bussiness , and that's where the fast food industry as we know it today , developed.

But when american companies like mcdonalds tried to expand overseas , they still had to adhere to local standards , instead of the american ones. And that's why even american fast foods taste better overseas than in america itself.
