Brando Sando, my beloved
ОтветитьDelicious! Now we need a series of people getting powers by food poisoning
ОтветитьIve read all of them and theyre the best books ive read
ОтветитьHe’s a homophobe he can diaf
ОтветитьSee also: 'What If The Color of Magic Was Souls?', 'To Do That You'd Need A Magic Circle Roughly The Size of Alaska!', and This-Is-Why-Paladin's-Have-Oaths-Now
ОтветитьI loved this trilogy. The first one was awesome, and I couldn't put the second one down. The third book was so satisfying in its payoff I had goosebumps. I have never read a novel that tied together so many story threads so well into a beautiful plot bow 🎀. That is one of my favorite things in a book though, really complicated plot elements that tie together.
ОтветитьActually though
(Spoilers)
She literally got pewter at the beginning from trace amounts of metal in the water supply, and that’s why she was able to handle getting beaten by Camon. This is before she knows what allomancy is; it wasn’t even intentional. Any real person would actually just get heavy metal poisoning.
The Mistborn Saga is also great at getting one to explore philosophical topics. The acting from the main cast of characters in the Graphic Audio version is just amazing. It’s more expensive but I highly recommend it
ОтветитьI mean, it's about on the same level of radiation giving you super powers instead of boring old cancer.
ОтветитьDo you/anyone have any recommendations for any one off books?
I wanna read. But i dont wanna commit myself to some 8 book saga.
(If its a 2 book series, that is okay, maybe 3 of they are short)
I know this is a joke, but is the question heavy metals into super powers not just the philosophers stone?
ОтветитьMy first thought was "LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOOOOORRRRRR 🤬" heavy metal and not "Flint, Michigan" heavy metal and I was simultaneously intrigued and confused 😂
ОтветитьThat's a great summary.
ОтветитьIve never heard a more accurate explanation of it😂. Its just so good
ОтветитьIts a world of Magnetos
ОтветитьThe only Sanderson book I liked was " the wizards guide to midevil Europe. I think
ОтветитьI've been listening to heavy metal for years, and I can't even do a pullup. 😢
ОтветитьI love Mistborn- I am also aware it is “what if the evil dictator won and had to be defeated by the most ragtag group of criminals taking large doses of dangerous poison”
It’s absolutely batshit and I adore it so much
Also- the costume design descriptions are just chefs kiss
I was replying to a comment and recalled a WW2 song.
I looked it up online and could only find the American version about paratroopers and not the British version I learned about spitfire pilots.
Either way, it's worth a look, especially if you are considering drinking heavy metal.
It's called: Blood on the Risers (Glory, Glory, what a helluva way to Die). 😂
Mistborn is my least favorite Sanderson series in Everett almost everything he's written... 😅
ОтветитьThis is legit THE best description and recommendation for this book.
ОтветитьWith a side of emotional trauma at the end of book one.
My daughter rage quit reading for two whole days. (If you know you know!)
Now I'm bracing for the end of book three and the emotional rollercoaster that will happen with that
I really wanted to like that book but unfortunately was disappointed, just not for me. I keep trying to get into his stuff but it doesn't draw me in like Martha Wells, for example. I don't hate it, it's just blah.
ОтветитьIt's also, "What if grimdark, but sirprisingly wholesome with a Hero beats the Demon Lord trope at the end?"
ОтветитьI didn’t have that question but now I want it answered, Gimmie
ОтветитьIts been a year since I read the Hero of Ages...and my mind is still blown, every time I think about it!
ОтветитьOkay, but could you actually answer the question they asked instead of being snarky about it?
Mistborn is half political scheming half heist movie. It's about a band of thieves plotting to rob the god king of their world, while also featuring a coming of age story around a young thief girl who gets embroiled in her disguise as a noble in the court while learning about her unusual powers. The main character points revolve around her reconciling those two, the street urchin and shadowed thief with strange powers vs the shy noble girl who's only desire is to make connections (so that she can exploit them for thieving). Other thematic points include discussing what makes a person a hero, how the upper class exploits everyday people, and the ways our relationships with others strengthen us. This is capped off with genuinely one of my favorite power systems in fiction.
Lock, stock and two smoking vials
ОтветитьObi-wan's Eleven
ОтветитьI'm about to listen to this in graphic audio🤭🤭
ОтветитьI'm finally finishing the first trilogy. What am I reading next? (I preferred TWOT)
ОтветитьWell yeah it's the same as how radioactive material gave people superpowers in the 60s
ОтветитьMan I love mistborn, faults and all. The ending of the first book hit so hard on, left me spinning!!
ОтветитьSo that’s why Victorian England was a golden age for the Brits
ОтветитьIt's giving Spiderman. Am I wrong?
ОтветитьIs Brandon Sanderson worth reading? I feel like I hear problematic things about him
ОтветитьMagneto, but drug addicts 😅
ОтветитьIt is superpowers, not magic/miracles like classical fantasy sense
ОтветитьI somehow fixated on the impossible ecology of that world and couldn't get into the story.
ОтветитьWhat's mistborn about? For me it was about finding my favourite author
ОтветитьLove how this video and all the comments are creating more questions for me than answering, but have convinced me to read it regardless.
ОтветитьIs this the one that fails the Bechdel test despite having a female protagonist?
ОтветитьI can confirm that the first half of this book is exceptional. I also have it on good authority that the sequels etc live up to the hype.
Unfortunately, I need peace to read, and that has recently proven impossible to find in a house of chaos… The books I could have read since mid-January, I weep for them 😢
I thought you said "this p*rn"
ОтветитьSounds interesting!!!! XD
Also, I can’t hear or read the surname Sanderson without immediately thinking of Winnie, Mary, and Sarah!!!!!!! XD Lol!!!!! XD XD XD
.
my dad made me read mistborn and ngl I highkey loved it
update: I sent him this video and he said "she could've come up with a better joke" like ok damn 😭
You know, I don't think many people ask that question, but I might be wrong.
ОтветитьIs this any better than a radioactive spider.
ОтветитьStormlight Archives: Lightning spewing Marvel Heroes and... mud."
Warbreaker: "Be careful with colours. And zombies."
Tress of the Emerald Sea: "You will never want to go on a cruise again."
