Damn who would have thought that the guy that was known for being a PlayStation fan and supporting Xbox more than so other self professed Podcasts Hosts of other xbox focused podcasts.

I’m so excited for Mixtape. That seems like the kind of movie I love, and as a game I’m so down to play that.

I'm wondering if the rumors of the next Xbox running Steam may be based on this new Ally OS.

Dave2D mentioned the grips don't really feel like an Xbox controller. and the shape is a little different too right? Xbox Ally is more rounded a bit? how does Halo feel on it?

Anytime anyone says xbox said theyre doing this, or not doing this, they have changed their stances drastically more then once in the last few years. So i take everything they say with a grain of salt.

I have the Lenovo Legion go S. It works great with x box, steam and all of the other launchers. The biggest thing for me is the 8" screen. What are they thinking making a 7" screen on 2025. Also they're releasing the Lenovo Legoon Go 2 later this year. If you can get your hands on a Lenovo just to try it out.

Man, never thought I’d see the day where Greg would be so immersed into the PC/Xbox ecosystem. I totally get it, though, as someone who’s on PC Game Pass via the MSI Claw 8. This growing market is such a dream for handheld enthusiasts and I’m keen to see how well the Xbox Ally does.

The grips remind me of the slide on grips i had to get for the switch lite. That thing hurt to hold for more than 15 minutes so the grips were a life saver. Just made my fingers naturally go in better positions for playing

Trojan horse. People can’t see the forest for the trees. It’s all about the OS now. Microsoft is trying to figure out. How can we put an OS in your hands that allows you to do whatever you wanna do but you have to go through our OS to do it. Do you wanna play on Steam go ahead you want to buy stuff from Epic go ahead you want to use the Ubisoft store go ahead. Microsoft wants to make it so that there are no barriers to entry when it comes to gaming. You can just purchase it here and they want to to be able to play anywhere. The catch is they want to come to them when you make the purchase and then you can just play it on anything. That’s crazy because most other game companies are not going to want to offer you that. Sony can’t afford to let you purchase something on their platform, but go to a different store and do it. So can’t have you going to the Steam store to buy things they need you to go to their store that’s how they make a majority of their money. What happens when Microsoft says we don’t care where you go. People are going to question Sony and say well. Wait a minute now if they allow for people to do whatever they want why don’t you? Sony can’t let you go to another store because then they don’t make any money. Microsoft knows it’s all about the OS. Everybody’s gonna have a PC but you’re gonna need a OS to run things.

I own an ROG Ally Z1E, and I will without a doubt grab an Xbox Ally X when it's available. Great move with Asus and Xbox.

This thing looks lame, I wish Xbox developed a primary handheld that was completely built by them instead.

As a massive fan of Silverchair i've been wondering what song they'd use in this game. I don't know which year its based in so its been a big head cannon daydreaming thinktank of which one of the many songs they could use for this kind of game and the vibes they're for. If it was darker I could see "Miss you love" or "Anna's Song" or "Emotion Sickness" or "Abuse me" or even "Tomorrow" but yeah for a Wayne's World Bohemian rhapsody headbang segment in the car "Freak" is an excellent choice. I wish they could use something from Diorama (album) though, it would be perfect for a artful escape style of experience but its from 2001 so wouldn't fit this time wise.

That's very expensive, I've been looking for a reason to buy anything Xbox but I just can't find one 🤔

I don't understand why windows and Xbox both exist for gaming. Windows gaming library accounts should be merged into Xbox ecosystem, and the games that aren't available from windows game store should be integrated into Xbox store. And mouse and keyboard controll option should be on Xbox os. Nintendo switch 2 was a mistake Nintendo should be part of the Xbox, steam and windows collaboration for the new gaming handheld device. I had a switch lite. switch 2 on tv is so bad ps3 is better than switch 2 for 3rd party games. Nintendo switch 2 should of been a Nintendo smartphone and approach it like valve steam deck with 3rd party devices from OnePlus, Samsung, Google and others. The only way to play Nintendo games should be Nintendo smartphone and asus Xbox handheld. And 3rd party Nintendo os smartphones eventually. Nintendo dont even make AAA games that why switch to is obsolete at launch there to far behind and 3rd party games on switch are a waste of time, even marvel alliance 3 is a exclusive and on handheld it looks bad so its obvious how bad it is on tv. If they don't make a smartphone and merger for Xbox for alternative to play Nintendo games in future. They should do what sega did and just make games because AA exclusive games are not a reason to make Nintendo hardware. Thats why a Nintendo smartphone makes sense. If they did collaborate and make a phone it would be more accessable to play Nintendo games. Phones with a Snapdragon 8 calibrated for Nintendo os could easily handle Nintendo exclusive games. Nintendo have never made AAA games is not there domain thats why 3rd party games are always poor quality.

Greg explaining and hyping up mixtape makes me think its not for me. Nothing weong with it but our taste in games has changed from his greatly over the years. Interested in what other people will think when it comes out

Play anywhere is fun but I just don’t think it’s as big a deal as it seems. Play anywhere is usually my bed lol that’s just me though. My steam deck was affordable and my new switch didn’t pay too much for. While this handheld is cool it’s just way too expensive for me.

They work in tandem seamlessly, but they work individually as what they are.

I still dont quite understand why anyone would want this Xbox Ally X over a regular ROG Ally, which can already play xbox games on it.

People who are surprised about the price is a little confusing because we already know the price of this tech. Not going to be for everyone but there is no way this will be below £800 for the x version.

I am so excited for the Xbox Ally to release. Absolute game changer. I now have much less time to game, so having a device with game pass that I can take on my commute, whilst travelling etc. is going to be incredible.

I'm absolutely interested in an Xbox handheld. I'm absolutely not interested in this incarnation. Xbox games library over 300 games, but less than 30 of them show in the Xbox App on PC - so no "Play anywhere" for me. I haven't bought a steam game in 15 years. So my library? Not there.

And no, telling me to "just stream it" from the cloud isn't good enough - beyond the infrastructure problem, if that's the bulk answer, why not strip down the hardware to just deal with that and make it a boatload cheaper?

The "Xbox Ally" is such a good name for a handheld.

These tech devices like the rog Xbox I like buying a new car yes it's nice but there will be a new version of that same car the next year it will be up to you to decide if you just going to keep buying new cars all make the best out of the one you have until it's time to upgrade years later it's up to you

I've wanted an Ally for a while and have not yet pulled the trigger. I'm just worried about the price and I'm curious to see other devices with this new os that I want to compare with before buying.
