Isn’t it sad that the cartoons giving a nod to pale skinned artists is still ok and we enjoy this “who do you think they are meant to be ?- “game but cartoons doing the same tribute recognition to darker skinned artists are deemed offensive and edited out 😢

The Jungle Book's vulture characters wasn't adapted on the Disney's animated series TaleSpin. They could portray as some kind of music band.

Ziggy (Auburn) = John Lennon
Buzzie (Bald) = Ringo Starr
Flaps (Blond) = Paul McCartney

If everyone heard about how originally the Vultures were going to be voiced by The Beatles, I'm sorry but they couldn't do it. They were now recording and making Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.

John Lennon even told Brian Epstein (Manager for The Beatles) to go back to Disney studios and tell Walt to hire Elvis Presley to do the voices for the Vultures instead. Since at the time before the Comeback show, Elvis was making movies.
But can you really imagine what would happen if The Beatles did say 'yes'? That would be even more hard work for them! Some days they would be doing voice casting for the movie, other days they would be writing songs and recording them too. That would be less sleep for the band. They might even have to take more awake and sleeping pills to do each job.

The Beatles would also have to put Sgt. Pepper on hold, not go to the 'Our World' special, not go to the spiritual movement, and Ringo won't have anytime to be with his wife since she was pregnant with their second son.
And another thing, there would've been riots outside the theater to go and see the movie. People fighting for the tickets if the movie was sold out, and what if the movie flopped?

I pulled up this video to settle an argument with my hubby only for us to wind up commiserating and slightly shocked that it was posted 17 YEARS ago.

My favorite part from the movie

Somebody at Disney was a fan of Marty (excellent movie from 1955 with Ernest Borgnine). That whole "what're we gonna do tonight/ I dunno, what you wanna do?" bit is clearly lifted from Marty. Watch the movie and you'll know what I'm talking about.

I often imagine this is how the Beatles would've been if they never met Brian Epstein and didn't get the break into the industry....just sitting around in middle of nowhere, trying to think up inspiration for songs but feeling neglected and uninspired 😢
