The Seafire combat would be interesting, as would be the final aerial combat of WWII. Was that the one Saburo Sakai was involved in?
I really think some of his combats from the two books written about him should be included on your channel. The ones during WWII as well as the one from the Sino-Japanese War where he chased a Chinese Tupolev bomber hundreds of miles and shot it down after it attacked his base.
Love your channel, keep up the good work!
Yes RN battle please
ОтветитьGet rid of the promo garbage and just tell the story.
ОтветитьHellcats with bomb bay doors...... thats a new one..
ОтветитьGreat video.
ОтветитьAnother excellent video! Thanks!
ОтветитьUK battles in the pacific would be cool.
ОтветитьThis was very informative, you've got to do the Sea fire video.
ОтветитьSeafires!
Let's hear about the those Seafires.
ОтветитьEXCELLENT ¡ Thanks
Man Japs were really bad. They get the jump on the US Fighters, which carried rockets, outnumber them, had the best fighters japan offered and still got clapped. With their ships and army it was the same. The just got massacred all over.
ОтветитьBest videos ever SHOWTIME112, please do the next one with Seafires
ОтветитьNice touch on adding the official surrender announcement.
ОтветитьShows that the Japanese still had plenty of fight left and that an invasion of the Home Islands would have been very costly, as US planners had forecast.
ОтветитьGreat work, now let’s hear about the Seafires.
ОтветитьCould you do Spanish harriers in Kosovo
ОтветитьThanks Showtime112. Would love to see the Seafire battle. =)
ОтветитьAnother great video, thanks!
ОтветитьGreat video😊
ОтветитьThere’s a B-32 bombers attack after August 15…Saburo Sakai did not shoot down either bomber on August 18 1945, but there was a fatality
ОтветитьThe Jack is a good looking aircraft, and of course the angular lines on the Hellcat are business like and aggressive like the Fw-190. WW2 planes had so much style, unlike the rather similar looking modern jets.
ОтветитьIf I'm not mistaken, it was the planes from the USS Yorktown that contributed most to sinking the Yamato in April 1945. In August 1945 the USSR was already at official war with Japan. There were certainly some Soviet-Japanese air battles. Put some on the channel if you can. Greetings.
ОтветитьThe last day of the war, and the Japanese still had the ability to deliver a punch ...
Ответитьthose british seafires look like insects on the carrier deck
ОтветитьGreat video.
ОтветитьAnother awesome video. Please see the Seafire video !1
ОтветитьThe crackling during the Japanese Emperor's surrender speech made it sounded like he's recording right next to a fireplace in the palace or next to a camp fire.
ОтветитьFighting and dying when the end is in sight is such a depressing prospect to think about. So pointless.
Another excellent video and recreation. I look forward to the Seafire vs Zero engagement if and when you get to it.
What about a video about the last dogfight between bi-planes.The Gloucester Gladiator and the Fiat CR 42 in 1940 during the Battle of Britain.
ОтветитьGood video.
ОтветитьYes, the Seafires please!
I'd say the Hellcats overclaimed. Since fighter pilots almost always overestimated the number of enemy aircraft present - especially when they were outnumbered - there were likely no Japanese army aircraft involved. Overclaiming was rife in the Pacific. US fighter pilots routinely claimed 3 victories for every 1 downed, and in at least one campaign I know of claimed 5 for 1. The Japanese were even worse. Their underclaiming here was unusual and I can think of two possible explanations: first, two Hellcats collided; second, there was an extended confirmation process for air victories claimed over Japan that hadn't been completed for all the claims made in this fight before the war ended, and no one was inclined to bother after VJ Day. Did neither of the Hellcat pilots who baled out survive?
Yes, we’d hear about the Seafires
ОтветитьBring on the Seafires. 👍🏻 Getting killed with the Pacific War almost at its end has got to be the worst of tragedies.
Ответить"Let's see the Brit contender dogfight, please. Great job, as always!
ОтветитьI have a book which has a section detailing Morioka's encounter with the Hellcats. It's called Imperial Japanese Navy Aces 1937-45 by Henry Sakaida. Great nonfiction and reference book btw.
Ответитьgreat vid. would love to see the last Brit battle
ОтветитьIt would be interesting to see the role of the royal navy in the pacific
ОтветитьExcellent
ОтветитьWhat a waste.
ОтветитьThere is a book about this account. It’s titled, “Dogfight Over Tokyo” by John Wukovits.
Ответитьyour videos are the best you can find, if you are interested in dogfights.
ОтветитьLets see the Seafire battle
ОтветитьGreat story and truly sad that not everyone survived when they probably knew the war was over. My father was a navigator in B-24s flying with the 90th bomb group and he told me they stopped flying missions after the atomic bombs were dropped. He said they were told that the US dropped the two bombs, but he and his buddies didn't know what an atomic bomb was or anything about it. He had just turned 20 years old in July and passed away in 2016 at the age of 91.
