Oblivion Alchemy Guide

This was INCREDIBLY helpful. I kept trying to make potions to damage personality (Namira quest) but it wouldn't let me! And nothing I looked up helped, except for this!

I know I'm very very late to this BUT I have a tip on getting venison.

Use a fireball spell. Aka a small aoe destruction spell. That why you don't need to get a bullseye on them annoying motherfuckers. You can get taught one for free by one of the guild halls, I forget which one..,maybe skingradd? Dunno.


Also, don't chase them. They'll stop to eat at a very specific distance, I'd say maybe 20 ft? They'll just stand there, BUT if you move an inch, they'll dart out again. Just slowly walk in the direction they ran and wait for them to appear, then nail with the fireball. Boom. Venison. It's even more effective on groups.

If you're looking for Venison, go to the Imperial City and search some barrels outside of the Feed Bag Inn.

Eh....I think morrowind is the best in the series. Oblivion seems a bit boring tbh

You need a strategic map for this.....

one cut of venison for an entire deer... makes one potion out of 1-2lbs of venison, somehow the ingredients are cheaper than the final product, makes sense in a traditional economy like tes4's, oversights are bethesdas forte.

I never appreciated alchemy for the longest time until I figured out how strong and helpful these potions really are. Especially when you play the game on higher difficulties, simply because poisons are unaffected by difficulty. Poisons are MOST helpful in max difficulty and least helpful in the easiest setting . When u hit journey man , my favorite ingredient are spidal stick since it has damage health, damage magika, and fire damage.

On max difficulty you want to have 3 different spells hot Keyed. 1. 100% Weakness to poison spell, .. 2. 100% weakness to fire spell, .. 3. Weak fireball (from skingrad recommendation quest), .. 4. A fire enchanted melee weapon, .. I’m basically a master at this game so I make max difficulty (non cheating) look easy

For a 2009 video about oblivion alchemy this is WAY above average!

Skill lvl 100
Use ingredients that heal both health stamina and magicka down 2 of them and watch 40pts of hp for 60 seconds magically refill while they do everything in there power to kill you.

I'm disappointed; I thought that, when I joined the mage's guild, there would be quests that would train me alchemy. I'm somewhere between level 35-40 and haven't brewed my first potion yet because I was waiting for training/tutorial quests.
