TL;DR: How to Get your ideas on the Page? 1. Freelining: Use bullet points to jot down thoughts quickly without worrying about formatting. 2. Freetalking: Record voice notes in chunks, hitting return between ideas for easier review. 3. Freewriting: Type continuously without editing, allowing uncensored thoughts to flow.
Thanks for watching! I hope you enjoyed this video. If you found it helpful, I'd love to hear which method works best for you—drop a comment below! Let’s keep the conversation going. :)
I can't do the number 1 which is the "Using my own words when i capture meaningful or interesting passages in a book" becauss what if im wrong? What if my interpretation are not correlated with the text, there is so many what if that i just memorize the passages.
Ответитьwhat's this theme?
Ответитьi tried freetalking with voice memo, but it gets piled up and lost. I didn't label anything
Ответитьlove this channel.
ОтветитьThis new series is turning out to be 🔥🔥🔥
ОтветитьTried with the Whisper plugin to do exactly what you describe, but it does not transcribe in the fly, just when I stop recovering.
Which Plugin do you use?
You already put your touch in productivity content .
ОтветитьI can attest that this absolutely works - with dictation and Obsidian - stay in the Flow
Ответитьthen do re-read text to voice for review...
then use GenAI to summarize ...looking for themes and make connections
I’ve been keeping a handwritten journal for a long time, and I love the personal connection it provides. However, once the journal goes on the shelf, I rarely revisit it. That’s why I’m a big fan of the Day One app, especially the 'On This Day' feature that brings up entries from previous years on the same date. Sometimes I even snap photos of my handwritten journal entries just to see them at least once a year.
But I’m concerned about having my data, which is so important to me, owned by a company rather than myself. That’s why I’m thinking Obsidian might be a great alternative. I already use it for book notes and ideas, but not as a journal. Is there a way to replicate the 'On This Day' feature from Day One in Obsidian? If so, it would be fantastic for maintaining a journal.
Also, congratulations on the videos—they keep getting better, both in production quality and content!
Thanks for the tip of free talking I didn’t think about it at all for Obsidian note making
ОтветитьGood Video as always. But i have a question : So for context i use the Ideaverse vault, but how can i mix between the Effort Folder and my Tasks App (i use Timestripe so it's not about just tasks but also goals). How can i work smoothely with both ?
ОтветитьHi Nick!
I guess I was wondering if you are using a community plug in for the dictation. I enable audio recorder in the core plugins but I cannot get it to work on my mobile. Could you please assist me with it?
Hi Nick, I have Obsidian, how do I do the voice to text? Do I need another app. Thanks so very much for sharing ! I am in your WOW community!
ОтветитьI tend to Freeline in analog rather than digital, because I'm able to get into a flow type state and capture my thoughts better. I've made it part of my routine to then take those freeline thoughts and add them into Obsidian and revisit them to flesh them out and link them to other concepts and ideas.
ОтветитьGold! Greetings from Brazil
ОтветитьQ It looks like you are using a keyboard shortcut to switch between “Edit” mode and “Read” mode. Please share that for us “Obsidian newbs”
ОтветитьWhat iOS version are you using? As of iOS 16, you cannot use the keyboard while dictating.
Ответитьe
ОтветитьSo would love to know if you bought or made that big black paper book at the end of the vid?
ОтветитьThe freetalking tip is awesome. First it didn't pick up me talking Swedish and assumed english but then it started to work after restarting it.
EDIT: Pressing new line stops the audio recording for me and doesn't create a new bulletpoint. This obviously ruins the flow of it and the whole idea. Will experiment to see if I can get it working (using an android phone with Gboard and obsidian)
Where is the dictate button? I can't find it on my iphone in the app
ОтветитьI tried freelining in my daily note today. Just blasting little thought snippets about my day. It's great for my ADHD brain. I can bounce around, do random indents and generally go ham. I'll have to try freetalking later.
Ответитьhey can you please fix the downloadlink for th fyt vault on your website. I get an error on multible devices.
ОтветитьGreat video! Thank you!
ОтветитьNice video..
ОтветитьYour audience clearly admires and trusts you, as evidenced by the positive comments. The instructional videos on utilizing the tool are highly valued. It would be fantastic to consider a new series of videos aimed at empowering aspiring writers, helping them realize that their ideas are achievable. By demonstrating that with dedication and effort, anyone can turn their dream of writing a book or a movie into reality, you could inspire many to take that important step forward.
ОтветитьIrrelevant but you look similar to James sunderland from silent hill 2 (remake)
ОтветитьHow to link obsidian within multiple devices eg. Mobile n laptop
ОтветитьOne of your best ever videos. I love the way that you simplify a concept and then make it so usable yet incredibly powerful. Even better you are a natural born presenter who can impart knowledge so effortlessly.
Watching this video was a very valuable investment of my time.
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this powerful video.
