Nicely done. I think the more you know the better you can shoot. Fit has always helped me since I have always been mostly the wrong size for average fitting guns. Thanks for sharing, I always enjoy your videos.

Wonderful video! As a cross dominant shooter this helps me a ton in how I approach evaluating guns.

Thanks for a fantastic video! I was fortunate enough to get a gun fit several years ago and I was surprised by how involved the process was. The fitter brought a try gun and his tools. I had 2 of my guns that the fitter first took measurements from. We then went to the plate and he watched how I mounted and shot with my guns. That process took a bit of time due to nerves on my part. He then brought out the try gun first setup like the gun that I was shooting. From there he made adjustments. Once we were happy with how the try gun was on the plate we then went to several clay target stations so he could see how I hit with the try gun. After some more tweaking I was hitting targets well. He checked out the fit on my other gun with some drills and shooting. He wrote a good number of notes and fit numbers for me.

It was money well spent not only for the hard numbers generated but also the amount that I learned that day.

This was very interesting. When watching the bit about which part of your finger you use to pull the trigger, I realised that I use a different part of my finger on a shotgun to a rifle, is this normal?

Brilliant informative video , some great tips ! I’ve recently bought a Winchester 8500 the gun seems to fit me like a glove as standard , which is fab . Jonny how about doing a video on stock bending, and other alterations to achieve a better fit ?
Great video keep up the good work 👍

Johnny I've recently brought a shotkam and have noticed on reviewing the footage I shoot high on a lot of birds. Could this be because the adjustable stock is to high or to low? Tia

I have always had issues with gun fit. I believe its because I shot rifles with scoped from a very young age and could mount a rifle very quickly to shoot rabbits. I was wondering if this is a common problem, and if there are shotguns out there that have been custom made to replicate a rifle fit.
Always a fan

Question; how does one know if the length is too long? It seems to feel long, but how does one know? Is there some particular symptom that will develop if the length is too long?

So many good videos with such good content but just slooow down. You speak fast, mumbling, and inarticulate. Throw in a few more consonants so we can understand more of your dialog. (English is wasted on the English).

hello there . very useful video thanks . i just noticed one important thing that i started to squeeze my gun stock harder to my cheek than i used to do it before and now happens like so that, my gun stock casted on and I, some times look on the rib from the right side, like..my gun stock bended in .first i thought may be would be good to stick gun pad on the stock but ..i own benelli M2 and it shoots high anyway and if i do this it will shoot more higher.can anybody give me an advice how can i fix this problem

Jonny, would you consider making a video on shotgun sight picture? This is more of an issue for sxs shooters than others and, I believe, contributes to the shunning of those doubles.
BTW, did you know that it was your Mr. Churchill who pointed out to our Annie Oakley that her guns did not fit her properly? He then made her a 28b, I believe, but perhaps not, that was a revelation for her. Not wanting to see her shoot English guns, Parker Bros. made another 28b for her but to Churchill's measurements.

The idea I am struggling with is the idea of having a consistent mount before you get a gun fit. My mount is inconsistent because my current gun doesn't fit, to the point I have stopped shooting yet hesitant on getting a gun fit as I know things may change when I get back to shooting regularly. Considering just buying an adjustable gun, shoot until I feel more consistent then selling for a custom fit gun. (Primarily a game shooter)
