To survive and exist in a human-centric world, the robot will need to grasp and manipulate items in a similar manner as humans. It needs a dexterous pair of hands and legs/feet for navigating obstacles, stairs, elevation changes and slopes. Nice but they have some work to do...

Am I the only person that recognizes this robot from almost 20 years ago giggle giggle giggle giggle giggle. Quick somebody call Dr venture somebody is ripping off helper. Robots like this originally appeared in Johnny Quest in the 1960s made by doctor Quest and other inventors in the cartoon;). This exact design in fact. An example of this is helper in the series Venture Brothers if you look up the helper that was supposedly designed in the 1960s by Dr venture senior and compare helper to this robot the resemblance is striking. The only difference is helper can fly with a helicopter attachment that comes out of his head. This is just funny that this particular model is so closely resembling sci-fi cartoons from the 1960s. That's literally why help her was a joke in the Venture Brothers it was a joke on a 1960s design somebody apparently watched Johnny Quest or Venture Brothers and had the bright idea to build the real thing

The point of giving robots the same capability, shape and build as a human is so it can go and do what humans do. For example a robot meant for escorting and caring for the elderly would then be able to go everywhere the patient can go, climb into a car, walk up stairs, etc and go with them where ever to continue supporting them.
