Back in the dim dark ages of my childhood fake languages were made up between friends so that they could not be understood by significant others. Now it appears that these later generations have further developed this idea so that all of their peers can understand them and the ‘enemies’ such as adults cannot understand them. But this not just a childhood happening. Business language has been corrupted so that employees and others are kept in the dark about what is really going on. We are becoming tribal.

Why are they acting so out of touch? From what I know, these terms are more or less common sense for any generation after boomers. There's no need to act older than you are, especially these days. I'd say they're pandering to soccer moms but it's 2024, even soccer moms are online enough to know basic slang... Maybe I'm missing something. All I know is I'm already 33 but Gen Z/alpha slang is still common sense to me.

It's ironic because most have no carisma or social skills compared anybody else.
