thanks to this vídeo and some torque manuals I was able to build my 1.6 liter renault engine. It didn't work, but I enjoyed the experience

If you're timing is all off by the time you start assembling back together... can you simply move the crank in position, followed by the cam gears one-by-one to TDC?

Anyway you can do a video on how to choose proper head gasket thickness, valve to valve clearance, and piston to valve clearance?

Not sure if you’ll even see this but did you use a gasket kit? and if so what one? I want to make sure I get all of the lower o-rings as my block is at the machine shop right now.

building engines is somewhat "easy" if you really understand what happens inside of it, the more you learn about a specific engine and how it works, the less problems you will have while building it, you only a need a trustworthy machine shop, the rest is just a big ass puzzle for you to assemble correctly
