Hey PolX, have you got that clip of the Gove/ Marr interview (July 2016) in which Gove says "If anyone loses any business or trade and it's down to Brexit, I will personally see to it that they are compensated"?
Of course Gove gave that as a solemn promise. And of course Andrew Marr didn't ask "How?", just let it add itself to the gleaming pile of shining Brexit deception that he, too, was instrumental in presenting to the nation.

Guess what. There's no point importing much food out of the commonwealth as shipping way too expensive and slow (rotting), except maybe meat and there, standards are much lower. Hormone fed, antibiotics daily, other banned chemicals used.

The full range of checks on goods coming into the UK a a result of Brexit has still not yet been implemented, nearly 5 years after Brexit. The UK govt keeps putting it off, & putting it off. They know what a clusterfuck it all is. Yet Stamer won't consider at least getting us back into the Single Market. What the hell is wrong with him?

The British empire fell 300 years ago. The transition to a financial power has extended the life of the country since then. Brexit seems to have been a call to former glory but without any basis for success. Regression to the mean…instead of rising, Great Britain will regress to the world mean…and that hurts. Hear them scream. Idiots.

JRM is one of the worse individuals of the time and still is. He reflects what is totally wrong with English, self entitlement, laziness, incompetence, hypocrisy and can lie with a straight face right in front of any one . Surprisingly, like many others of the same caliber, he has not face any accountability. The UK Justice system is dead.

I STILL don’t know why everyone collectively forgets that a federal European Union was NOT what Britain signed up for - we only Weber asked to join a European economic zone - not the federal superstate it’s turning into.

ted Heath the PM of 1970-74 made a panicked knee jerk decision to join the European economic community after the British economy tanked - and the day he signed
Britain’s membership into the union he had black oil thrown over him by a very respectable German woman who took offence to British being allowed to finally join up - the french had been vetoing it since its conception.

From the 1950s all through the 1960s -

- yet when britain did finally join there’d been no referendum to the people themselves who weren’t even asked if they’d like to join a federation of states and lose sovereignty to a collection of countries they’d been at war with just 3 decades earlier (!)

Charles de Gaul - who enjoyed the safe haven of British hospitality whilst he headed the french government in exile from London where he too sheltered from the German bombs that pounded the uk night after night during the Second World War - yet less than a decade later hes in cahoots with the Germans and won’t let the Brits join too? It sounds like petty playground nonsenses of a kindergarten

Before the referendum in 2016 David Cameron repeatedly appealed to his french and German counterparts hoping to be able to tweak the laws of European free movement when it came to Britain - what good is free movement to us when we are a separate island of only ourselves and we have to get on a plane or a boat to enter the European mainland anyway?

No one listened to Cameron’s pleas and the rigidity of Europe and reluctance to listen to the concerns of the British is why Brexit happened.

Europe is petty and has a very short memory - the Second World War was made more a certainty by how harsh and humiliating the Versailles treaty was on germany after the First World War. By being hard on britain to punish it for brexit all Europe has done is make the British government more right wing - what a surprise (!)

Britain held a democratic vote and respected and honoured the result of that vote - no one grabbed power no law was broken, yet Europe collectively set out to punish Britain harshly for daring to respect the democratic choice of its own people (!)

Germany forgetting that if it weren’t for the British protecting the Volkswagen brand and car factory from the soviets in 1945 and successfully restarting car producing again from a pile of scrap parts during post war peace time - Volkswagen would no longer exist had it not been for the LACK of pettiness in the British post war approach to germany and out pragmatic tendency to accept that germany had punished itself enough in the war and needed all the help it could get - her people had a right to have a future where they would be economically successful again - at the time they couldn’t even give the car brand and factory away for free (!) Henry ford was offered it and declined

- today Volkswagen owns the luxury british car brand BENTLY (!)

we had even less in common with Europe than with America and Australia.

Norway isn’t in Europe, nor is Switzerland, no one accuses them of being racist backward countries over their prime.

Can we please remind ourselves and others - we were never full members of Europe - not emotionally - that’s why we kept our money and our manners (!)

Britain NEVER signed up for what Europe became - it’s like accepting a days work with a friend and by the end of the day you’re expected to be legally married to them (!) - erm… no we agreed to to run a market stall together that’s all - no one said anything about marriage (!) FFS

I voted remain in the referendum - but now if there’s ever a vote in future I will ALWAYS vote to stay out of it - not out of bitterness but out of an acknowledgement that britain has a unique opportunity to be friends with both the USA and Europe and so can act as a bridge between those blocks in future.

We didn’t sign up for marriage so stop resenting us for exorcising our right to walk away from the crazy lady dressed in a white marshmallow and her bat shit crazy petty family (!)

I love Nigel's comment .... " what price freedom, liberty, identity,?".... now Brits get a new identity: poverty, lack of easy access to the Common market.
Brits deserve their fate for not thinking of the real consequence of this disasterous vote
Nigel stepping out of retirement now because of his concern of Britain's plight. If anyone is gullible enough to believe in Nigel, then, they deserve Nigel. ( He is just a self serving snake oil salesman)

I have had too many problems to mention with imports/exports from the UK since Brexit, although I only have to pay the 19% VAT in Cyprus, and have to live with the 10%+ import duty. So like most people we now we only buy stuff from the UK if we can't find it in the EU. The UK must have lost Billions in VAT receipts and sales since Brexit. Although some sensible UK companies have now relocated, or have a sales agent in the EU.

Sadly everybody who voted for Brexit or Boris and the Tories to implement a hard Brexit clearly wanted thousands of innocent Brits to suffer and to destroy the country. Nobody can say they didn't know this would be the result when basic trade common sense and realities, the last two TWO leaders, thousands of experts etc told them over and over again. Not to mention all the leading Bexiteers had a long history of compulsive lying but openly honest about supporting the richest in society and hating the poor and public services etc. It is like somebody voting for Trump and then complaining their life is now ruined or they are being deported - total madness!

If you see someone who looks like a charlatan, acts like a charlatan and talks like a charlatan, what could make you think he is not a charlatan? I have always liked the United Kingdom and the British and in the days before the vote I visited two or three blogs that warned about the fact that the results of Brexit would be contrary to the promises and guarantees of those who said - during that time it was like seeing someone who was going to commit suicide, but no one was able to convince them otherwise. Now, with the exception of those in business and others who are more enlightened, it still seems to me that the majority of British people are not completely convinced of the harms of Brexit. On the other side (even if we don't see marriage as a form of contract) who would be the British man or woman who would accept the other saying to them: "Love, after these years of separation, I realized that the logistics costs with the EU partner it's very big...will we go back? Even so, for me, despite being an island - the United Kingdom is Europe!
