Great video brother. Kinda weird how the audio sounded really bad especially when they advertised building in dual microphones. Did you perhaps record the audio with the water proof case? Cuz that would explain it.

this kind of make me a little bit wonder... I once had sjcam SJ6 legend and could record quite decent audio even if its inside waterproof casing and now sj8 pro can't do the same? does this mean the earlier versions are better?

Can you control I so and shutter say to do a milky way time lapse for longer exposures?

The SJ8 has a maximum bitrate of only 65 Mbps while the Yi 4k+ has a maximum bitrate of 135 Mbps. That means the SJ8 has to use much more compression when recording in 4k mode. The higher compression needed by the SJ8 results in lower quaity video. The Yi 4k+ is a better deal.

Such a wasted i buying this camera. dont have hdmi and tv output. Cant even use as webcam or connect to ur pc or laptop. Not like other models such as sj6 legend and sj4000 even better. This sj8 pro to me is just a waste.

They should have minimised the number of buttons, the power on button should be the Video/Photo button, will make it hard to use with gimbals.

You can control more but not all with a remote controller (via Bluetooth)

Can anyone suggest best settings for recording outdoors in a sunny day?

Because I see noise even in 4k 30fps recording outdoors in a sunny day.

I have now switched to the GoPro Hero 7 Black....My SJCAM SJ8 Pro broke within a couple of months of using it (shut off and wouldn't turn on at all). SJCAM told me to contact the seller which I did who offered to send me a new one...it never arrived. They supposedly sent a second (from Malaysia again) it never arrived again. Then the seller said they would refund me...never happened despite repeated promises. I contacted SJCAM to tell them I wanted to get a replacement and sent them video of the malfunction (like I did to the seller). They erased my help ticket like it never existed...I haven't heard back from them...I'm done with SJCAM...which is sad because I like the SJ7 STAR for cockpit audio when I fly. The only problem I've had with the two SJ7 STAR cameras is that the micro usb port has broken off in both cameras (I superglued a micro usb to usb cable on the second one before it totally broke off so I could keep using it in the plane while charging it at the same time with a USB power supply). The first SJ7 would not record sound after the micro usb port broke (while using the plug in official SJCAM microphone. The GoPro Hero 7 surpasses everything...that's all I'm saying..the only problem is that it's never going to be as cheap as SJCAM. I did all of my video reviewing with the SJ7 and SJ8 but they will be retired soon with GoPro cameras. The hypersmooth technology is what sold me and it is great. I do not have room in the plane to have a gyro.


UPDATE: The second help desk ticket was taken down without answer as well...DO NOT BUY SJCAM....or should we leave the J silent and call it SCAM?

Possibly a good camera depending on your luck, as there have been a lot of cameras with problems straight from the factory and no SJCAM support to speak of. Apparently they believe that once out the factory door it is no longer their concern and if you try and email them or sign up with their support forum, they will delete your account if you persist in complaining about your broken camera. Do some research on this camera before buying. Truly this is a buyer beware issue.

The sound from the Sjcam sj8 pro action is so small that I don't like it at all

2 years later, this camera costs more than an Akaso Brave 6 Plus, which is a far more superior camera.
