Installs Arch as a first distro.
Shit barely works.
Doesn't even try terminal and research other stuff.
I mean you shot yourself in the knee there, man.
Someone forgot LFS...
Ответитьeverything yuo did here was fine but installing on an m1 mac was the problem. I know you likely do not have a lot of other computers sitting around but almost any x86 hardware will give you 10x better experince with linux. things like audio would have worked as well as the app store. but yeah linux on current gen apple hardware has a way to go because they do not use an open standard and the asahi project has t guess at every stage.
Ответитьi use arch BTW
ОтветитьTry using zorin os
Ответитьsudo pacman -S obs-studio
sudo pacman -S sof-firmware pipewire pipewire-pulse wireplumber && systemctl --user enable --now pipewire pipewire-pulse wireplumber
I’d just like to interject for a moment. What you’re refering to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called Linux, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.
There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine’s resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called Linux distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux!
Mac User Installs Arch (an advanced OS, not recommended for beginners) while also trying Asahi Linux (an alpha that will have problems especially since its for Mac)
Bold video
tbh asahi is kinda cheating since you get a gui and an installer for everything. You don’t have that Linux diy feel that comes with a minimal install of arch
ОтветитьArch is a diy distro you can use other distros you know
Ответитьthis is not what I was expecting
ОтветитьBro next time watch his video again but Hyprland installation
ОтветитьSam uses Arch by the way!
ОтветитьWhy is the software in Romanian?
Ответитьback in the moment of the video, the m1 audio driver was not ready. Theoreticaly the speaker could be blown up, so they disabled it until it was fixed
ОтветитьAnd that's why you don't install Linux on Apple silicone and that's Apple's fault.
ОтветитьUsing Arch but not using Hyprland is wild
(I use Arch w/ Hyprland btw)
You should try Ubuntu not arch. Because after watching this video I think arch is not for you .. Installing arch is not easy and your installation is not correct. My arch is totally fine and I love it.
ОтветитьA dependency is not optional. If it will not work without it, it is not in any way optional. Why do people love Arch so much when Arch doesn't even know what's optional and what isn't?
ОтветитьOf all distros for beginners, Arch would not be my first choice, but you sure learn a lot with it ig
It's a lot more advanced now of course, but I remember back in college when I installed it and would always get issues with graphics and drivers. How to forget when I had an assignment to hand in the same day and then the computer just went full kernel panic out of nowhere lol
Trying linux on a silicon mac really isn't fair to linux. It's like reviewing a book after having translated it into chinese and back with google translate.
ОтветитьYou followed a tutorial by ksk royal? God, that dude ksk royal saved my life tons of times
ОтветитьI genuinely don't know how people prefer KDE Plasma over GNOME or anything else tbh... It looks ugly as can be, feels like a cheap Windows clone 🤢
ОтветитьWhat in the fuck is that face 😭
ОтветитьThis video is too funny..I personally love Ubuntu, Linux mint.... . It's too easy to use. Arch Linux sucks my PC..
Ответитьi almost prebooted my pants
Ответитьabout the advertisment... every time i see similar to that like delete me etc. i always wonder, if you give them your data couldnt they use it? 🤔
ОтветитьArse Linux....lolz!
ОтветитьArch is the most Bullsh!t linux out there. it comes broken in the first place, you need to get thousand of commands to make a Office writer appear on your app menu. tons of work to make the AUDIOwork.
Just stick w the Fedora, Linux MInt, MX Linux, Ubuntu. those work right away, not like this Bullshit Arch fart!
Finally I Learn to install archlinux after one year
ОтветитьShould have just installed Debian
ОтветитьDear MacOS users. We aren't going to tell you how to install Arch Linux. We don't want you to install Arch Linux. We don't like you. But if by some miracle you wake up and decide you want to actually own the stuff you use and for 8 GB to be genuinely ok for the first time in your lives? We still aren't going to tell you. Buy an x64 pc and RTFM
ОтветитьInstalls? You sure about that? I doubt they will manage to boot into live usb with arch, let alone make such USB.
ОтветитьMy first Linux-install was around 1997 (not kidding). Red Hat Linux. The IBM Thinkpads and now Lenovo Thinkpads have always been the best laptops to install Linux on IMHO. Today I use Ubuntu because I'm lazy, but there was a time I used Fedora because I was not so lazy, and wanted to try out the newest stuff. And I've even build LFS (Linux From Scratch), with gcc bootstrapping and s**t.
ОтветитьI use an older macbook with an intel processor so installing arch wasnt as problematic for me
Ответить“Get a hold of your private and try them out…” What!!!
ОтветитьWayland is the new video protocol that is replacing X11 - which was last updated in 1985. In Wayland, there is no separate widows server and windows compositor: the Compositor is also the Windows Server. You can tell if you use Wayland by looking at the windows: with X11 they just appear in the screen, with Wayland the windows is animated...
Ответитьzorin os is like a mirror😂
ОтветитьI could not see myself yesterday 😂
Ответитьi use the best os ever arch linux btw
ОтветитьWow going to straight on Arch, got some guts there. I tend to lead new peeps to Linux Mint.
ОтветитьSir, you deserve an M4 MacMini to have your way with. All night long.
Ответить“We can get our marbles back, its a little too late for that” I had angod damn stomach cramp bc of that
ОтветитьUbuntu user here. Runs fine on MacBooks Then follow many of the guides that makes it look like MacOS :)
ОтветитьShould have went with GNOME
ОтветитьMy experience EXACTLY when I tried Red Hat on a Toshiba laptop, and then the same thing a couple years later when I tried Ubuntu.
ОтветитьIt's still an embarrassingly bad OS
Ответить
