I saw the story in the People's Daily newsletter about Nell. I had not heard of her before. After listening to The Weeping Song I could hear her talent and I love that song. I'm sending condolences to her family, friends, and music family. She was way too young.

I had never heard of Nell (or Nick Cave, for that matter) until the announcement of her untimely death on American media, but I must say, these songs are both haunting and beautiful. The voice perfectly fits. I love the echo and the smooth sound of the vocals and can't imagine the devastation felt by her family and friends. RIP and I hope these videos stay up as a testament to this special girl's unique talent and spirit.

On my 50th birthday, I decided to spend the day alone. Without my family and without my friends. I traveled to a beautiful, snowy, icy valley to spend the night there. In my luggage I had a CD, a gift from my best friend. The CD by Nell and The Flaming Lips. I drove off and the songs started playing. I was immediately deeply moved by this gentle and warmly open voice and by the third song, tears were running down my face as I drove. I never met this young girl in person, but she touched my life deeply. Thank you Nell.
My thoughts go out to the family and friends of this wonderful soul.
