Not to mention language has an impact too, if i do an unconscious bias test in cantonese or mandarin for example I hate fat white people and black disabled people. If i do the testy in Japanese, I seem to hate fat Asian people

ОтветитьWell this lady was a quite vulgar. But what she is saying isn't untrue, it's just unspoken. If you are fired because of those reasons, nobody will tell you. Most states are at will employment states, which means they don't have to hire you and they don't have to tell you why they didn't hire you. They also don't have to tell you why they fired you. It's not just political beliefs. It's Moral, Philosophical, drug use, excessively sexual & any other type of person that will cause drama in the workplace. Because when it comes down to it, HR is there to make sure that the Employees of the company are a good fit for the company and capable of keeping the company profitable. If you are compromising either of those requirements they they don't want you because it is very likely that you will cause problems with the other employees. Employees that fit this mold are typically conservative. Not necessarily politically conservative but conservative in how they conduct themselves. It other words they aren't doing drugs, or out being Promiscuous & bragging about it, or a criminal, or a liar, or fiscally irresponsible, or a racist bigot or some kind of Psychopath. These are all habits that WILL impact HR's view of your candidacy for any position and send your resume to the bottom of the stack or in to the trash bin. HR is there to keep the company out of legal trouble. They aren't there to Caudle your feelings or provide you with a safe space. In fact if you are so sensitive that you need "safe spaces" then you probably are to delicate for most corporate careers. The reality is that people with any of those bad habits aren't good for corporate profits and therefore are undesirable candidates for employment. My nephew didn't get several jobs and couldn't figure out why. Well it was because he had a bunch of black friends that were OK with him using the N word on Facebook to them so long as it ended with an A instead of an ER on the end. That was why he wasn't being hired. Because he was flagged as racist for using the language his friends used with him, but in a public forum. You can't do that. It reflects badly on your employer and is grounds for dismissal or not getting hired at all.

ОтветитьDoesn't help that that test literally says "does this person look good or bad to you? Also we may think that you are a person who unconsciously hates black people". If they just did "does this person look good or bad to you?", it might be more effective. Surprise tests always work better than tests that actively say their objective. It puts the person in their most normal state.
