I didn't know the horse community was toxic lol, but then again what community isn't? Idk anything about horses or what your doing with her but you seem to be good at it. Don't listen to the haters

I would rather you show us your houses and your training then watch someone be fake and show some sort of barbie esc horse ranch. This was great and showed that animal care/Horse training isn't always glamourous or staged.

I got recommended a post from the horse subreddit today that showed a horse looking very calm and half-engaged with its rider doing a standing trick on it. Nothing about the horses posture or body language shouted discomfort, but there were a lot of people claiming abuse and that the horse was agitated in the comments. I mean, it’s Reddit so that is to be expected somewhat, but it still really surprises me how often people scream abuse in any animal subreddit. It’s exhausting.

Nothing will ever be perfect in the way people wish, but I think at least in the grand scheme of everything, somehow, everything is exactly as it should be and we should just take each day as they come, not bogging ourselves down with the weight of an uncertain future. If you don't know what's next, if you get butterflies in your stomach when you do what ever it is you've set out to do, then you know you're on the path to personal happiness and you need to keep pushing. This channel is so lovely and I hope Beerpup counties to be unquestionably herself, as she should.

man I can really relate to avoiding things you love, for fear of failing, or whatever, I avoid painting and crafting because I am so hard on myself and what I try to create, that I just don't even bother anymore.. which is shitty. I have just never really realized that, that's what I was doing until you voiced that concept in this video. We really stand in our own way, don't we?

Honestly from what you show online you take good care of your animals and you work hard to correct any mistakes, which is what makes a good caretaker. And horses are more than what online communities like to show. I think these honest portrayals are more important than the idealised ones. I think your pasture looks fantastic btw, what horses like is not always what people online find aesthetic.

Dove and Kelso are beautiful. You're absolutely right about the online horse community. I rode when I was very young, and I have no soap box to stand on when it comes to how other people train or ride.
I get crap from the bird community when I put my pigeon in his flight suit. Or if there is a video of him rough housing, people clutch their pearls in judgment.

So relatable. If everything isn't just right, then I don't deserve to do the things I love.
I have ADHD so I have a wide variety of things I love, but I can't just pick and do something. I feel like a passenger who is piloted by my hyperfocuses. Unless I'm obsessed with something at the moment, the things I love are boring to me.
I hate it, but it's just how I work, I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think this is why I'm so nervous to post my art. I really want to get my art out there but I have really bad anxiety and I don't think I'll be able to handle people picking my art apart or telling me it looks wrong. Obviously that's nothing compared to looking after horses though.

Oh man, this brought back memories of learning this type of horse training in exchange for baby sitting when I was 12-15. It was fun, but I never felt fully confident in myself about it. When I was 20, I worked at a summer camp leading kids around on horses, but I haven’t really done anything horse related in a long while. Mostly because it’s expensive if you don’t have a friend with horses.

I don’t know anything about horse care so I am really confused about the critic you get. The horses are outside, they get food, they’re not alone and receive care from you. They’re not bored since you interact with them in various ways… I would argue this is a lot healthier than other enclosures I’ve seen for horses.

I really enjoyed your talk and I feel like you and I have the same worries when we work with our horses lol, please do more horse content, waiting for everything to be right so you can go online and be the "perfect" equestrian is so real 😭

I have a lot of experience with trailer training horses with patience and Ive had my problems and wins, if you care for a strangers advice on the internet Id be happy to help lol, we have to start being nicer to eachother in the horse world,

Greetings from Germany, I live in the state with the Most horses so Ive seen a thing or two 🐴

i used to ride for over a decade consistently. fractured my spine in a fall and have been back on only twice since. still adore horses and have been wanting to get back into it, but medical costs from future falls (even with insurance) scare me into not riding again. even though i have the capacity and ability to, as well as access to horses. it sucks knowing you’re imperfect in whatever you do and when your own brain is the main thing stopping you from reaching your goals or living the life you dream of. i would love to own horses and land, but i know i’m nowhere near that. and that should also be okay.

I have ridden almost my entire life.
I entered the sport, unable to relate to many of the riders at the stable. I always found them so insanely judgmental that I had to change stables once or twice. For 10+ years' worth of experience up my sleeve, I still get severely anxious around the animals I love due to unfortunate accidents and light spooks.

I recently lost all of my confidence after a fall. It wasn't even a bad fall; the horse just missed a stride when jumping. My old trainer would have yelled at me for being so weak. However, my new trainer made me realise that the horse world will always be imperfect. Horses can put you through all emotions at once in a huge explosion. What we need to prioritise is being there for other riders and horses and doing our best to comfort them, even when they cry or get anxious over minor mistakes.

Your transparency and honesty are the prime, perfect example of what we need in our sport. You are doing great <3
