My family were big into showing cattle and we still have silver cups everywhere to prove it. I live in Guernsey so of course our family farmed Guernsey's and shipped many to the USA both before and after the second world war. Showing cows was a big part of my life growing up.

Back in 1983 I was mowing pasture at Mountain Dairy Stores Ct. With a Farm all super M and woods 6 foot mower.I almost ran over a new born Jersey calf, hiding in the weeds. Very scary!

Give us the low down of all your years of showing. It is very competitive & fun. I showed for years, did cris ever show cows enlighten us. She looks like a winner. I must be missing somethig. That Hiefer is way way too thin. There must be something wrong with her or she has been starved. If the previous owners were shown just before they themselves have have been in a very rich paddock. In that condition you would be laughed at trying to show her.

Never heard of feeding a 40% protein pellet. Dairy stock here in Ireland are feed a 19% pellet as standard.

half a year ago - I am never gonna have dairy cows.. too much work and we are not prepared... now - great addition to the farm! our dairy herd is growing! :D woman want someting, woman will get it and man will think it was his great idea... I know it, trust me, I also thought it will be great to have horses... and we have horses and woman is satisfied..:D
