My single dose is 8 cups each morning in a giant mug.
ОтветитьI have the SGP - need help with settings for v60, aeropress, falvors all over the place
ОтветитьHi. I got Covid a month ago and since then I can’t drink espresso anymore even latte. Do I have to sell my whole setup and go drip. I have syncronika and atom 75 and cube temp. What do you recommend for best drip machine and grinder. Is there something that does fully automated drip Tks
ОтветитьKyle I only have the breville and just getting into V60. I understand is not the best for the job, but at the moment I don’t want to spend more money on another grinder (ok, maybe $100 TOPS). Can you suggest me the best grinding setting for V60 on the smart grinder pro or a decent manual grinder under $100 that can do the job better? Thanks so much in advance!
ОтветитьI find this video even more relevant as the Encore has gone up in price, bringing it only $30 behind the Breville. Its a tough call between the two grinders, I prefer the look of the Breville but the Encore has a great legacy. If I could throw the Follow Ode into the mix, I would be even more indecisive. As a daily V60 or Chemex drinker, I am not sure what grinder would be best in 2022. Thoughts?
ОтветитьWe used the Baratza Encore for sever years. It performed very well until it began to clog, first infrequently, and then EVERY time we would grind for espresso. Clearing the blockage with the supplied conical brush was inconvenient. If I would have known about the Niche Zero, we would've gone that route. We wound up with the Breville Smart Grinder only because we already owned a Breville Infuser. So far, we've been very happy with it.
ОтветитьWhat’s a good grinder for espresso, and why aren’t these good for espresso?
ОтветитьI was thinking of buying the Cuisinart grinder for 1/3 the price of these , please explain how these are more beneficial ?
ОтветитьIs there such thing as a low budget grinder for espresso? I don't care about filter. Espresso only, decent (not that Decent 😁) quality and in that price range. Something that will be a perfect companion to the Bambino plus.
ОтветитьBreville owns baratza
ОтветитьI don't understand that grind test at all, unless you are creating a baseline the results are meaningless
ОтветитьWHAT SETTING DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR DRIP FOR THE BARATZA ??
Ответитьwhen you say "espresso" do you include the coffee from the stove top bialetti 6cup?
ОтветитьThese are the exact two grinders I was considering after a lot of sifting. Your video really made the decision. I'm making espresso. So the breville it is! Thank you!
ОтветитьFunny how this guy thinks almost $200 coffee grinder fits into the budget/ beginner category 😬
ОтветитьIf you mainly use moka pot, French Press, cold brew. What grinder do you recommend?
ОтветитьThere are two categories of coffee grinders. One for espresso and the other for everything else.
Espresso is the least forgiving brew method and cold brew is the most forgiving brew method. And the other brew methods in the middle.
Guys I need a good grinder for espresso! Something good but not to expensive!
ОтветитьThe Encore is a high maintenance grinder. You will be stunned how many grinds stay stuck in the chute chamber. Hold the grinder with your left hand around the neck where the hopper connects to the base, smack the right side with your right hand while holding over a waste bin. Lots of grinds will fall out. Take the burr ring out to clean with brush they include. If you don't clean the grinder EACH DAY you will get too many old grinds mixed with fresh grinds and your coffee will have a noticeable stale, bitter taste. Encore works well, but it is very messy and is a lot of work to keep clean each day
ОтветитьYeah, but how does the Breville do for espresso grinds?
ОтветитьYeah well, I took your advice with a grain of salt and bought both of these grinders.
ОтветитьAs an owner of the Breville Smart Grinder Pro, I can definitely taste the difference in its inconsistent grinding. The brews from it's grinds lack depth and clarity, muddy flat coffee tone with very little distinction of the beans tasting notes.
I noticed a couple years ago when I first got it, used it for poor over, and poor the coffee was. I then ordered a 1Zpresso JX (non-pro) after then having tried the TIMECORE Chestnut C2. From that end I can definitely say there was a difference in the cups of poor over coffee I made with my Kalita Wave.
Now come around today, I used the Breville Smart Grinder Pro (collecting dust) as an excuse to get into espresso, and again I am met with inconsistency with its grinding in addition to it holding residual grinds at the base of the grind catch below the burrs. So, now I'm waiting for a 1Zpresso K-Ultra I just ordered to arrive here a couple days from this comment.
P.S. You can use electric drills to attach to the shaft of hand grinders instead of doing it by hind.
Baratza Encore in Czech republic in some shops for 3500 CZK. Sage 820 is for 7000 CZK. Well, that is like double the price.
Yeah that second one Sage 600 would be more matching. As it costs like 4750 CZK, and Baratza Encore in most expensive shops 4699 CZK.
I’ve got the Breville smart grinder but it’s clumpy and feels inconsistent. Is the crema that much better on your $750+ grinders?
ОтветитьUpgrading the Encore to the M2 burr makes it even more consistent, and faster.
ОтветитьGreat video Kyle! I was trying to decide between the two and this review showed me exactly what I needed to know. Cheers mate
ОтветитьGood morning Kyle. Do you happen to know if upgrading the Encore with the M2 burrs will change the taste profile of the coffee? I like sweet, sweet coffees and am wondering if the M2 burrs will decrease the sweetness of the brew. (Much like using flat burrs will.) Thanks so much for your time. Love your videos!
ОтветитьI recently purchased the Breville Smart Pro. We use a french press and are loving the flavour of our coffee. It's quick and easy to operate and easy to clean. Very happy with our purchase.
ОтветитьSmart grinder pro broke 13 months of light usage. 1 month out of warranty, $145 cost of repair
ОтветитьI watched so many videos where the niche lost over the breville for espresso. I think it’s funny that you are such a snob that you think it can’t do great espresso. It’s not about the cost bro. I don’t know why anyone would listen to you.
ОтветитьHe uses his hands too much
ОтветитьBreville now owns Baratza ..breville grinders are getting better every year
ОтветитьMfw a $180 grinder is your 'budget' option.
ОтветитьWhich one would you recommend for a good espresso with bottomless portafilter?
ОтветитьI HAVE A GAGGIA CLASSIC PRO, WHICH GRINDER DO YOU RECOMMEND BETWEEN THESE 2, ENCORE ESP OR SMART GRINDER PRO FROM BREVILLE
ОтветитьThe first 20 steps on the Baratza Encore ESP(the white one you have there) are espresso fine and very precise. The Baratza Encore ESP is specifically engineered for optimised espresso.
Ответитьhave you tried a cheaper one? otherwise how can you tell?
ОтветитьWhat is filter coffee? I am using a perculator Is that filter coffee ?
ОтветитьI Love this item. Works wonderfully and is a true space saver. Easy to use and clean.
ОтветитьBaratza is a very messy grinder. At least one foot around it and under it. The square bin is coming slowly out when grinding. Returned it and replaced it with breville. Much refined and better all around and the hopper lid doesn’t fall off when slightly moving it.
ОтветитьBro those reviews think everyone is rich to get 1000$ grinders what a snob reviews smh
ОтветитьHi Kyle- I enjoy all your videos- thank you. Can you please recommend a burr grinder primarily for pour over, French press and moka pot that isn’t too loud or messy? I don’t mind paying more for high quality. I’m considering a Virtuoso but am concerned it might be too loud and messy. Thanks in advance.
ОтветитьHere's the thing..... You can buy an $8 dollar nut grinder to grind your coffee beans and still make great coffee. In fact, that's the machine what most people own. I actually still have mine. However, if you're making an espresso-based drink at home, latte, mocha, cappuccino, machiato or just pulling espresso shots, then you need a multi-setting grinder with a fine grind setting. The Encore is really just an overpriced nut grinder if it does nothing other than coarse grinds. You also have to keep in mind that most coffee sellers will grind your beans upon request. Now, I don't own the Breville, but I have used it at my girlfriend's house and I am impressed. I have worked in multiple coffee houses in my life, so, as a person who knows how to make espresso and pull proper shots, I can tell you that the grind on the Breville pulls great shots. In my opinion, it is just a great machine. Good video!
ОтветитьThe same company owns both.
ОтветитьI don't care about the noise! I don't drink the noise!
ОтветитьGreat and simple review which I appreciate. You didn’t mention using these for French Press coffee, I assume the Breville would be the choice for that, since you would want a coarse grind for French Press. After many reviews, I purchased the Breville for French Press and espresso purposes since I’m just starting out.
ОтветитьThumbs up ! For the Kid
!!!!!
I have both. Started with the Baratza encore and was happy with the grinding but it made a HUGE FUCKING MESS. To the point I hated using it and just started buying only pre-ground coffee which obviously isn't ideal. It also got clogged all the time. Picked up the Breville Smart Grinder and it may have a few setbacks, but it makes 0 mess and is just a joy to use. Never clogs either. Looks a lot nicer on the counter top (especially next to the Breville Espresso Machine).
ОтветитьI hope you're doing well today! I'd really appreciate if you hit that Subscribe and like button if you haven't already! And let me know which you would decide out of these two?!
