How to save images for web using Gimp

Could you explain to a novice why you do these next steps, in "advanced options" you "unchecked save EXIT data", then select "chroma quartered" not sure why these actions do and what chroma quartered does to the image? how do they improve the image? Thanks

I have created Football Manager logos normal logos 180 by 180 and small logos 20 by 20. Now how do I save to web so they can go on Football Manager?

Isn't the resolution still too high? I heard 300 is too big for the web and it should be 72
