I'm glad you guys are enjoying this video! Your positive feedback and reactions in the comments are also a great example for what I said about positivity/being happy for others/hospitality/enthusiasm in the video, by the way! 😊
ОтветитьIt's so funny that see this video. I am from Munich, Germany as well. I have lived in the US for over 20 years now and I wholeheartedly agree with your evaluation!
Obviously I love Germany as well, but Germans do have a very negative outlook on life and it's interesting to hear that from someone else 😂
Glad your experience has been positive!
Objective observations:
1. The phrase “American Culture” is an oxymoron.
2. The fact that you are European AND White = perfect combination and main reasons why Americans have been “Friendly” to you.
3. Individualism? Ask “conservatives” if they mind their own business and let you be who you truly are.
Frau, you sound like you are reading this off teleprompter. No nosy and uneducated questions in the U.S.? Simply impossible... And that artificial smile on everybody's face ...
ОтветитьYES
ОтветитьYou delete my comments. I’m sorry to bother you Feli. I’ll leave you alone.
Ответитьshe is nice and cute!
ОтветитьWe definitely have a big don't judge/mind your own business attitude!
ОтветитьI still have to totally plan to get together with even a couple of friends since we all have busy lives. Very rarely is there spontaneity.

ОтветитьBeautifful american girl in germany
ОтветитьCan’t help but think your experience has been so positive is because you’re an attractive white girl who moved to a nice area in the Midwest. Many Americans don’t receive the same treatment as you do.
ОтветитьI love you are living in America!
ОтветитьSeriously, the odds of someone from Germany winning the Diversity Visa Lottery are ridiculously low. The whole point of the program is to diversify immigration, which means it’s really designed for people from countries that don’t have a lot of immigrants coming to the U.S. in the first place. Germany, on the other hand, already has a pretty steady flow of immigrants to the U.S., so the chances of a German applicant getting picked are slim to none.
What’s even crazier is that you come from a wealthy family that could afford to send you to university in the U.S. without breaking a sweat. Most people who apply for the lottery are doing it because it’s their only shot at a better life, and they don’t have the resources to just pack up and move across the world. But here you are, already living comfortably, and still winning the lottery? It’s almost like you took a spot that someone with way fewer opportunities could’ve used. Life sure isn’t fair sometimes. :)
Enthusiatic about their school. Have a listen of the Beach Boys song "Be True toYour School". Also, "America the Beautiful" for a patrioric discription of the topography.
ОтветитьIve been looking for videos of people saying what they loved about visiting America because I have been feeling super down and they make me feel gratitude for the things I have!! Thanks for this video
ОтветитьThis made me so happy. Thank you! 🙂
ОтветитьZiemlich oberflächliche Betrachtung der aufgezählten Dinge und dazu noch konsumistisch, aber ich denke schon, dass die USA genau das richtige Land für dich sind.
ОтветитьI wonder how much of your experience is due to being among reasonably affluent Americans in the midwest.
ОтветитьCincinnati must be an incredibly cheap place to live. Average home here is 350,000$ If you own a home, you are probably going to be in the minority for 'average' Americans who will probably never own a home at these prices.
ОтветитьAll small towns including in the US, are noisy as heck. Always judging and in your business. I appreciate friends that are earned as they become part of your life. Everything here is surface based. This was not always the case but things have changed.
ОтветитьIf you're ever in Colorado, there's a popular Bavarian restaurant nestled in the mountains called 'Rosi's Little Bavarian Restaurant" in Glenwood Springs. It's very good.
ОтветитьYou're very right about our optimism. It's very think and deeply in our culture and sense of identity. I think you're also right that it goes back to our pioneering heritage. From the very beginning with the Pilgrims and then the pioneers who braved into the American wilderness, having a positive can-do attitude was essential to being successful and surviving. And that positive can-do attitude was kept alive generation after generation to where now it's essential to being an American to always see the good and always have hope for the future, and to never give up. Our grit and determination is essential to who we are and always have been as a culture and people.
ОтветитьI'm amazed at how good your English is. Bravo!
ОтветитьKull
ОтветитьI sleep with strong men in my youth but now I'm 98
ОтветитьWorkouts for weeks men do it
ОтветитьNot sure it counts, but wasn't Facebook invented in the US? friendly meeting friendly
ОтветитьYa, why did you up come here? You speak like Germany is so perfect and superior than America, you have alot of remarks about America that puts America down. Why don't you go back home to your unfriendly stuck up country so you can be with your superior kind in your superior country that relies on my country to defend your country from Russia. We don't need or want your judgemental type in my country, you talk and say alot of nonsense alot about my country and my people, then turn around and contradict yourself by saying nice things. Your a very typical wishy washy German who talk alot of BS about America and its people. Go home, we dont need your opinions and un appreciative attitude, earn your Frank's, your not deserving of working here and earning dollars!! YOU SUCK, so does your videos, andcomments!!!!!!
ОтветитьI feel the first three are all intrinsic in the USA's burning desire to punish poverty. This is related to, but not 100% tied to Calvinism. The belief that God rewards good people, therefor if you don't have money you are bad. During the cold war this of course was magnified by demonizing socialism, as if it was sharing wealth and not totalitarianism that made Stalinist USSR bad.
Guns baffle me. It's a brain worm is the best explanation I can come up with. I think they're just afraid that stopping anyone from getting an open carry howitzer makes them less 'murican. And the solution is always more guns.
And I blame the British for the bread and dairy. And of course industrialization. I loved the bakeries in Europe.
I spent 5 years in Germany and 3 years in Belgium. However, as a member of the US Army I was not really immersed in European life. The US Army makes it possible to live for years in a foreign land and never leave the US. You can stay on the base, shop at the US Military stores, live in US housing, and just talk to your friends. That being said, I lived mostly on the economy and being in the band I went to an amazing number of fests. I'm a homebody so I didn't get out and about as much as I should have but with my job and personal travels I went to most of the European countries. I rode trains and buses and talked to people here and there. I found really friendly people everywhere I went (except Paris?) and could make myself understood in German and Spanish. I don't have much of either language but I can get the basics. In Germany there is always someone who speaks English. In Denmark EVERYONE speaks English! In Spain, good luck if you're not in a big tourist area. In small towns in France Americans are very popular. Likewise Belgium. In Italy everyone was nice and didn't care if they could understand you or not. Yes, as far as I could tell there is no fast food in Europe. The fast food places are there but they aren't fast. Once again, everyone was friendly. In restaurants the staff leave you alone to enjoy your meal, unlike the US where the water/waitress keeps coming by to see if you need anything. You can always catch someone's attention and they'll come to see what you need in either place. Places are close together in Germany. From Bad Kreuznach the next town was about 4 miles away. I live 4 miles out of Magdalena, NM. The next nearest town is about 30 miles in either direction. The nearest big town is about 100 miles away. At least the air is clear and there is little light pollution. Thanks for posting!
ОтветитьLOL only creepy people stare. I listen to true scary stories every night before sleep and creepy people either stare at you or follow you or both. 😂
Ответить"If at first you don't succeed, try, try, again" Long time saying.
ОтветитьAs a Canadian I can agree with a lot of this. People often like to think that we’re more distinct from the US since we have a border and make an effort to not be associated with America, but the truth is we’re basically the same country aside from Healthcare. A lot of people often tell me how great Europe is and while I have visited it many times, I just can’t really get into it. Canada and the US are my two favourite places on Earth for the foreseeable future
ОтветитьOh, don't treat yourself too much you. You'll end up as a fat umma in the mid west when you are old.
ОтветитьIf you're getting insulted by Europeans, that's because they are angry that their grandparents never immigrated to America lol
ОтветитьIt's not your boyfriend ?
ОтветитьWell, I've been to Braselton, GA in 2008 and I'm quite interested in the US as a place to live. It is fascinating on the one hand but also frightening on the other hand. Let's break it down to my own list:
1: Openness & Friendliness: Yes, I agree to that. Hits my personal experience 1:1. US citizens really are open and friendly (for the most part): US +1 point
2. Making friends: No personal experience on my side, BUT: I rather have true friends for a lifetime that temporal friends who let you down, once you don't function as they would like you to. US -1 point
3. Spontaneity: OK, that's not for me: I'm not a spontaneous person. I like to know on Mondays how my Friday will look like. US -1 point But, really, that's on my personality.
4. Enjoying yourself: I do not feel the urge of justifying myself to others on what I do, what I buy or so on. So this is definitely something I like. US +1 point
5. Optimism & Positivity: Germans like to complain: About politics, about the weather, about their neighbor,... Uuuugh. So yes, another point for America. US +1 point
6. Enthusiasm: That's a point where I'd rather be cautious. Being enthusiastic about a sports team or a musical act is absolutely ok. But when it come to political matters, people please be careful. We Germans had a problem with a certain guy spreading his own propaganda 80 years ago. The German worked and "normal" people became enthusiastic about that guy.
There's some Donald in your country who does that same thing (in a more modern way) to turn you against the rest of the world. That guy is dangerous for our whole, beautiful planet! As he is quite popular to about 50% of you guys, so I have to give -2 points for this. (Should be -200).
7. Individualism: Yes, I'm an artist, individualism is the thing. Love that. +1 point
8. Space: What use is all that space when a lot of it is private property and you might get shot on trespassing? That would never happen in Germany, cause nobody has a gun. US -1 point
9. Scenic diversity: As you already mentioned, Feli, Germany has a great deal of scenic diversity and you don't even have to travel very far. Ok, we do not have the Everglades, Redwoods or the Rocky Mountains. Nevertheless we have everything from beaches, to idyllic villages, mountain sceneries, wine growing areas, rivers, seas,... everything a heart wants. So it's +-0
10. Convenience & customer service: Well, we're working on it. As I got to learn from other YT videos, customer services in the US are on their way down. So I think, it's a +-0
All in all: it equals to 0 points for the US.
Ok, unless I get a really well paid job in the US I'll stay here. ;-)
Interesting. I though all Europeans hated us
Ответитьlol I'm trying to leave
perspective and perception are everything
good luck
I love getting my various hobby-related friends together to make larger groups
Ответитьamerican women are game playing users.
ОтветитьUS can be friendly as a girl but try approaching people as a guy
ОтветитьI want to thank you for becoming an American.
ОтветитьIt's almost like you're giving out lesions to all of us, I love it.
ОтветитьCongratulations, I envy a bit you live my dream
ОтветитьGermans stair at you, because you have caught their attention of being or doing something out of the norm or possibly breaking one of the rules. Germans MUST follow die rules! But I don’t care who you are if you wear socks with sandals especially black socks you’ve got to look away.
We Americans have a reflex we’ve developed around mid 40’s to look away from idiots and for sure don’t confront them. You can’t fix stupid.
Hers is a typical path for foreigners of certain countries to emigrate to the US.
