Trophy Hunting PS1 Games On PS5: Loving It So Far, But...

There are no such thing trophies on PS1 games I got plus premium also I see no difference in graphics either games play the same they played on PS1 only xbox enhanced their old games not Nintendo or PlayStation

Literally, all Sony had to do, was make, the, ps5, backwards, compatible, for , all, last, gen, consoles. yea sure it plays ps4 games WHAT AB THE PS3?? The service just launched in Europe and I decided to upgrade to the Premium version.

My current subscription runs until next March and the upgrade lasts just as long...

Looking through the classic games*, one that instantly caught my eye and I downloaded immediately was Kurushi, however when I checked its' expiry date, it'll seemingly runs out in mid July!

*It's annoying that PS3 games are in the "Classic" section, similarly there seems to be no way to filter between PS1, PS2, PS3 and PSP games.

The emulation of Kurushi at least isn't great, I already own the game as a PS1 classic on PS3 and it looks good there, however in the standard 4/3 for 16/9 resolution here, the games' text is very stretched and hard to read, though in game it played very well and looked alright...

Setting the game to native resolution improves the text clarify, however it then makes the primary image tiny - both problems would surely be an issue in text heavy games.

And while the game thankfully has trophy support, it has too few and they're too easy to get.

Anyway overall I was left thinking right now there's a lot of good with the new tiers but a lot of room for improvement 🤔😯😀🤘

(While of course it's very annoying that PS3 games are only available to stream, apparently don't include any dlc, perhaps none of the games do, though apparently you can still buy dlc for them!

Also the fact that there are no Vita games included in the service 😐.)

Edit: I finally got it after 5 hours of frustration. Course 6, Hole 15 is by far the easiest because the green is right next to you.

So I downloaded Toy Story 2 (one of my favorites in PS1 era) and after playing for a while I realize there is no Platinum or any trophy at all 😑

So I got trophy in Infamous but it not showing up in trophy list? Do I need to do some thing to see it

Can someone explain to me why there’s PS1 emulation on PS5? Like is this actual emulation or is this their game streaming? I don’t own a PS5 so I haven’t really been keeping up to date with its developments, I really hope this is genuine emulation, this is awesome!

I hope they eventually include all the Hot Shots games! One if my favorite franchises! I read a review "even if you don't like golf, you'll love this game" I rented it and the rest is history, now I love golf all thanks to these games! 😍

I was just disappointed because they didn't get any inspiration from the RetroAchievements community. There are SO many achievements on old school ps1 games, and I wouldn't mind if they copied some of them from the emulation scene!

Pal is better than NTSC but thise 100 or so extra lines may make the game look worse on TVs used to NTSC

Rewind is a godsend if you’re running around trying to grab collectibles and miss it and have to loop back because simply turning around is not possible.

Fun fact: Syphon Filter was developed by Bend Studio who would go on to develop Uncharted: Golden Abyss on Vita and even Days Gone on PS4. But before Syphon Filter their last game was the incredibly infamous… Bubsy 3D. Yeah. They certainly came a long way.

I will NEVER understand why Tekken 2 doesn’t have any trophies.

That's one thing I don't do in games is trophy gaining , it makes no sense to me as I finish games without this completion

When you're used to the controls for modern-day games, going back to a game like Syphon Filter can be frustrating. Though I still think it's a very good PS1 game.
