Perfume and Babymetal are both artists managed by Amuse. They share the same choreographer, Mikiko-sensei. The lead singer of Babymetal, Nakamoto Suzuka is a graduate of Actors School Hiroshima, where Perfume also got their start. Babymetal was formed as a "school club" as part of the idol group Sakura Gakuin (now disbanded). Sakura Gakuin based its activities at the BEE-HIVE, the same Amuse dormitory/studio that Perfume had shared with Buzy and BOYSTYLE in their early days.

I hope you will react to more of their songs. I think you would appreciate 'Megitsune' a lot. The official music video is a very good one, but BABYMETAL are always at their best in live concerts.
You could also try 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' live at Sonisphere 2014 - their first time in the UK, their first major event and metal festival outside of Japan. Aged 16 and 15 and with over 50,000 UK metalheads who understood no Japanese to impress. This was the last song of the 5 they played that day - you will hear what the crowd thought at the end.

Thanks for explaining the Japanese lyrics. Please react to more. Seeing the Japanese point of view is very refreshing. Babymetal was started in 2010, and they have traveled the world, bringing smiles and joy to everyone. There positive message is part of the reason they are loved all over the World. There latest large concert in Japan was Legend MM. Yui left in 2018, and Momoko was named permanent member in April 2023. Thank you.

Babymetal is so amazing, and yes, lead Su-metal is an incredible vocalist. Don’t let their cutsiness fool you. These ladies go hard! This performance is from Dec 2013, and is Su-metal’s 16th birthday show.

Also, Perfume’s choreographer, Mikiko Mizuno is also Babymetal’s choreographer.

While I’m not a fan of pop music, I absolutely adore Babymetal. I’ll be head-banging to this song tomorrow when I see them live in Washington DC!!

Yeah, most Babymetal fans know about Perfume! They are considered Babymetal's Big Sisters!! They all work for Amuse, Inc. and have the same choreographer, Mikiko Mizuno!! Even Pentatonix did a "Perfume Melodley" song so you are right...Perfume are very Famous, even in the West!!

And you should see Moa and Yui''s Tenshi commercials when they were in Sakura Gakuin!!

I get to see them in concert for the first time at the end of this month in Oklahoma!!

All three girls are perfect idols. But an ordinary perfect idol cannot become a metal vocalist. Lead singer Su's slightly high voice can cut through the metal music without being overwhelmed. One of the reasons many people like BabyMetal is Su's voice. Thanks for your great reaction.

Nice first reaction and welcome to the Foxhole! 🤘🦊It was great fun to watch a person used to J-Pop Idol things experiencing the power of "Kawaii Metal" for the first time. So much excitement 😄 watching Moametal "So cuuuuute!" 🤣 You should watch her now, 11 years later 😉 The day before yesterday (IIRC) a crowd surfer (you refered to that!) got a high five from Moametal, in Charlotte, NC (there´s a YT Short of that moment). That was a first, I believe. She is one of the greatest crowd workers in Metal now, IMHO. And still "so cuuuuute!"😉

BABYMETAL is quite a monster these days, selling out ANY venue they play, anywhere in the world. They toured South America for the first time in their career, last month. Loooong awaited, and a great success, it seems.

You´re just at the very beginning of your BABYMETAL journey. They are HUGE. Tons of their own lore, a very long history, and many songs (~70) to explore for you. You had the "Yui Era" with GC, she left BABYMETAL in 2018 due to undisclosed health issues. Starting with 2019, her spot was filled in by backup dancers, three of them, on rotation. It was never announced who they are, but fans figured that out quickly.

One of them is Riho Sayashi, whom you might know already. I suspect you know "Morning Musume"? 😉 Kano Fujihira came from Sakura Gakuin, as did BABYMETAL. The third fill-in dancer is Momoko Okazaki. Momoko is now known as "Momometal" (and sometimes referred to by the name "Momozilla". You´ll find out at some point in time, why 🤣), she became third official member of BABYMETAL in 2023, and I saw her the same year in Cologne, Germany. My first live concert ever, and it was so amazing!

Amongst those is "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" from the "Legend 1997" concert (2013), which I second! 😁

Skeleton band was used early , they are just miming, not really the musicians playing music (They never appear after this time). The Kami Band, real live musicians, appear later in this performance and are the live musicians. With this song, Megitsune, Headbanger, Doki Doki Morning and iine are some of their first songs. Please more Babymetal!
