What is social selling?

What is social selling? — There's a lot of talk out there on social media by

people that don't understand social selling, about

what it is.

So first and foremost, let's get some things clear.

First and foremost, social selling is not spamming people on social media.

Social selling is not creating content and hoping that someone's gonna come in and buy from you.

Social selling is a strategy.

It's a way of you proactively prospecting and finding people and having conversations.

We actually have a definition of what social selling is.

“Social selling is using your presence

and behavior on social media to build influence

and grow relationships and trust which lead to conversation and commercial interaction.”

Anybody who comes and talks to you about social selling must be

talking about how they're going to grow your revenue.

How they're gonna get you to have more conversations,

more leads, more business.

It's a critical path. This is not about hints

and tips and some someone coming in for a couple of hours.

This is a strategy. We even have a qualification backed by the Institute of Sales Professionals (ISP)

that actually guarantees that you're gonna get the results that you want.

What type of results do you get? Well, we see businesses getting 5 things.

First and foremost, visibility, then second, trusted adviser status, you're gonna get into deals

far earlier than you are right now from using legacy sales methods.

You're gonna retain and recruit the best staff.

You're gonna be the employer of choice of in your vertical or industry.

You're gonna get your team and your business to have a shared sense of purpose.

which in the current climate of COVID-19,

recessions and wars — things like that, is really important.

And the fifth thing is that you're gonna get pipeline.

pipeline, new logos,

so new wins, and you're gonna get growth.

And that's what social selling as a strategy is all about.
