Watched the trailer for Alan Wake 2 that's releasing this fall and I was so Intrigued that I wanted to know about the first game. I'm liking the whole mystery and horror vibe going on here. Looking forward for the second game coming this fall.

I stopped enjoying the gameplay about an hour before the helicopter but wanted to see the story. Tired of the lame excuses to extend the sub par gameplay, like going 20 minutes out of your way because a bus blocked your path. Also adds excuses to add more crappy, unwanted combat. Glad I came here to watch these. There was still a ton of garbage ahead. Thank you for compiling this.

So, considering how you recently released the cutscene movie of Alan Wake 2 (a HUGE thanks, btw😊), I started again my long long tradition of rewatching every game in a franchise again before seeing the newest addition. Now, this time, instead of seeing your original video of Alan Wake, I decided to instead see this video of the remastered version, especially when I noticed that it also includes the events of the two DLCs.
However, from the comparisons that I made so far of your two videos of the first Alan Wake game (your cutscene movies of both the original and the remastered version), while it's a shame that you skipped in both videos on the moment where Alan sees in episode 1 in the gas station that it's been a week since he arrived to Bright Falls with Alice, one change in your video of the remastered version that I don't like, so far, is how you skipped on the boss fights with the Taken Stucky and Rusty. The reason for that is that their boss fights (especially the one with Stucky, that lasted longer) really make you realize slowly the potential of The Taken as enemies. Plus, it shows you the horror aspect of the game when you are forced to kill people that you have already seen on screen as regular people. Sure, Alan didn't talked with Stucky at all before he became a taken, and he only had a few words with Rust before Rusty was turned into a taken, but they were still characters in the game, and having to face them really makes the story feel bigger than what it would've been if you cut off the bosses entirely, which is why...I think that I'll stick with your original cutscene movie of Alan Wake. Don't get me wrong, I always appreciate your work, GLP, but this time I just think that the original take is better.
Keep up the good work though, and I hope that you ended up loving the Alan Wake franchise as much as I am! I might've never played any of the game myself, but I find the story very good, and the idea of The Taken really cool.

The game was not fun for me, but watching you play through the DLC’s, I honestly feel I enjoyed it more

Why’d you leave out the Rusty boss fight?

Alan's character does not make me want to root for him at all. Lol He's a fxxking narcissistic a$$hole. I hated that they were trying to make him redeemable and likeable because he isn't imo. But great gameplay movie as alway GLP

The gameplay is absolute trash, and the story is good but very overrated and very pretentious, idk if it's the voice actor or the writing but alan is so unlikeable
I'll check out aw2 maybe it was a mistake going back to the first one

I’m just watching this because I gave up playing when I stumbled upon the game breaking elevator glitch in chapter 2, luckily it was a ps Plus game so I didn’t feel I just got conned out of my money.

You had to keep the episodic format with each ending song. It really added to the atmosphere.

Had to watch this because eventually there was no sound in the cutscenes. In the remastered one on Xbox Series X.

The kidnapers were trying REAL hard to distract me when I was trying to finish this game. They never did the same with any other content.

All this makes me think why Nikola was trying to illuminate the entire earth.

Thank You! I'm way too chicken about jump scares and horror, so i'd probably never play this game, but i wanted to know the story and this was really well made with just enough gameplay to make the cutscenes make sense :)
