Thanks for this! Especially the distrinction of how to get scapular extension in pushup without rounding the spine. I have been trying to figure this out. (I have osteoporosis and type 2 acromions that have already caused bursal sided supraspinatus fraying.. and am trying to do pushups without causing more fraying.. maybe this will help). Now I just have to be able to accomplish the shoulder extension while maintaining neutral spine... Good to see it's possible.
ОтветитьA brief mention of scoliosis. It would seem to me not being an expert by any standards that doing this in the absence of a more holistic approach towards scoliosis is potentially counterproductive. As I understand it, the scapular wing lies on the convex part of the curve. So if you have the scapular wing on the right side , that’s the convex side. Which I understand means that is the strong side. So it only stands to reason that more of these exercises should be done on the left side to strengthen it is a vis the right side. Is this wrong?
